Hello,

I come across this anomaly multiple times a day after updating to tmux 2.3.

Other probably relevant system info:
OS: RHEL 6.6
Terminal: xterm (X.Org 6.8.99.903(325))
Shell: tcsh
$TERM = screen

Issue: When I haven't visiting a pane in a while, the last line of the pane looks completely blank. I have never actively seen the cursor move the below position. But I have found it like that many times.

If then I hit enter, the prompt gets corrected.

Does this seem to be caused by tmux? I do not recall this even happening before updating to tmux 2.3. Also none of the system specs listed above (also prompt, prompt2) have changed in a long time.

If you do C-b r does the missing line reappear?

That issue occurred again and I was able to try what you said.

Reloading the tmux config using "PREFIX r" did not fix it.

But I just hit "C-b" in the terminal and the hidden prompt showed up.

prefix r does not reload the config, it does refresh-client which makes
tmux refresh the screen.

Ah! Got it. I will try out refresh-client next time that happens. Thanks!

I had bound the r key to source my config for such a long time that it felt like the default binding.

Hi Nicholas, I got a chance to try out what you suggested.

refresh-client does not fix that blank line issue. The prompt shows up only after I use any navigation key or Enter.

Hmm, that means that tmux's internal screen has it too. Are you sure you
didn't resize the pane between checking it and this is a blank line
inserted by resizing?

No, I did not resize the panes (and I hardly ever resize the panes).

I am trying to figure out what's special about the panes where this occurs.
