Dear all,

I upgraded tmux to 3.3a_2 today using hombrew on my mac M1.

Suddenly creating a new window (CTRL-J w in my case) doesn't do anything. Also tried the direct command `:new-window` which also does nothing.

I don't get any error messages. Tried `tmux -vv` and the log file is also not informative. I also thinned out `.tmux.conf` to get rid of any plugins which also did not help.

Is this a known issue? Any help to debug this is appreciated.

Thanks
Uwe

Make sure you kill tmux entirely before testing ("tmux kill-server" or "pkill tmux").

Then run "tmux -vv -f/dev/null new", try to create a new window with C-b c, then exit and show me the server log.

OK great - you are almost always best to restart tmux after upgrading it.
