Hi all,

   When I issue the "tmsu files sometag" command, I only see the relevant files in the current directory. This apparently goes against the "anti-hierarchical" goal of tmsu.
Is there some way to see all the files with a given tag? I know that mounting is one solution. But I am looking for quick one line solution that I can issue from any directory and get a summary.

Thanks.

Arnab.

That's not right, you should see all files with that tag.

Which version are you using?

I've tried to reproduce the behaviour you describe but I'm unable to with the HEAD of the `master ` branch (i.e. what will eventually be version 0.7).

Just in case it is relevant: My system responds to "uname -a" with

Linux cssc-HP-ProBook-430-G3 4.4.0-71-generic #92-Ubuntu SMP Fri Mar 24 12:59:01 UTC 2017 x86_64 x86_64 x86_64 GNU/Linux

A typical session:

$ tmsu files sports
tmsu: no such tag 'sports'
$ cd ~/Videos/
$ tmsu files sports
./archery.mp4
./scooter.mp4
./ski.mp4
./teachbike.mp4

ok, I'll take a look with that version. However, is it possible you have inadvertently initialized multiple TMSU databases in these directories, such that when you are in the child directory it uses the database from there and when you are in the patent it uses a different database?

Could you please try running `tmsu info`  from each directory and see which database is reported?

Hi Paul,

    Thank you so much for helping me out. Yes, you are right. The "tmsu info" command shows that there is another .tmsu folder somewhere. Actually, I had started to dabble with tmsu sometime back, and then the machine died (no, not due to tmsu, but some hardware problem). When I copied my files to the new machine the .tmsu folder got copied also. I have now deleted that folder, and voila I have broken out of the hierarchical prison!!!

   I can hardly thank you enough for creating this tool. Saves me from making myriads of folders and subfolders and then forgetting their purposes.

Arnab.
