Technology Walkthrough at TMS

that not all classrooms have been wired. This needs to be addressed
asap so that teachers can access administrative software required by
Mr. Greening. Teachers, have arrived this week and some will be
unable to connect to the network. Also, Smartboards have arrived.
They look great, but not all classrooms will have access due to
limited wiring.
Spoke with Erin Fontaine of Audio Visual Inc. regarding Smartboard
training on Wednesday, August 8, 2007 at 10am. The training will be
1.5 hours in length. I asked if she could also include a brief
introduction on the integration of United Streaming in the SmartBoard
training. She noted that the SmartBoard software includes a video
player, which works seamlessly with United Streaming. Teachers have
the capability of playing the video clips, freeze framing them, and
writing notes directly on the video. She asked me to bring a few
video clips on a jumpdrive for her to use since she does not have a
United Streaming account. Anyone available to attend the training at
TMS should do so. A great opportunity to see the Smartboards in
action!

Note: TMS has 3 Linksys Wireless router boxes, but we can only
account for 2 wireless routers in the building. Where is the 3rd
wireless router?
I will donate 1 Linksys Wireless router to the school. I have a
second router, however, it is not wireless. I can donate that to the
school as well.
Mr. Peltier will contact Mr. Nightengale to see if he can complete the
hardwiring of rooms 13 and 14. He will also check to see if Mr.
Nightengale can place a plastic plug on CAT 5 cable in the
kindergarten room.
Mr. Peltier and I set up the Smartboards in preparation for next
Wednesday's training with Erin Fontaine. Currently, the school has
one LCD projector. We will need a second LCD projector for the other
Smartboard.
Mr. Greening needs administrative software installed on the server as
soon as possible so that teachers can set up class rosters, grade
books, attendance sheets, etc. Mr. Peltier is checking with the
Board to see if the current tech support person has been paid and
whether or not this gentleman can install the necessary administrative
software in a timely fashion.
