Hello All,
Many of you have requested information on accessing the Google group page. To go to the TMS Tech site, click on http://groups.google.com/group/tmstech?lnk=iggc
You can also cut and paste this link into the address bar to access the site.

The TMS Tech Google page was set up to allow its members to discuss, collaborate, and share technology information. The site allows all members to contribute. No one person is responsible for the upkeep and dissemination of information on the site. All members are responsible and encouraged to actively participate. This form of communication is a part of what is called the Web 2.0 or some refer to it as the Read/Write web. Children across the globe are being taught these concepts using tools such as groups, wikis, blogs, podcasts to add to the ever growing information-rich world wide web. It's a concept that should be introduced to the students at TMS. It is in ISTE's NET standards.

Things to note:

1. Please go to the Members section and update your image. You can choose to add a photo of yourself or you may add an image that best represents you, ie., chalkboard, ruler, stethoscope, laptop, microscope, football, flower, etc.

2. We should make MUCH use of the Pages section. Here members can create a new page AND members can go in and edit that page. This is a great section to post ideas or meeting notes. It will allow all of us to go in to contribute and comment.

3. The Files section allows you to upload documents, etc. Keep in mind that this is much like a 'filing cabinet'. You can upload, but you can't edit.

4. MOST IMPORTANT: Make sure to click on 'Edit my membership' on the right side. You will want to decide how you receive information from the TMS Google group.

If you still are unsure how to navigate through the Google Groups page, I would be more than willing to meet at the school and give anyone a demonstration.

Have a great day!
Lisa Williamson
