Hi mortal Malaysians!
Good news! We at Mamak Team are proud to announce our website and
our upcoming 3D game called Cricyst that has been in development
for over 3 years!
We now have the FIRST 3D game and also the FIRST REAL game in
Malaysia compared to other Malaysian game company wannabees.
We proudly invite you to visit our website at http://www.mamakteam.com
to get first hand information about our best high quality 3D shooter
in the style of RayStorm.. (better than Raystorm)
Please, only Internet Explorer 5.0 users are welcomed.
We do not support other browsers and have no plans to.
All the latest special fx are implemented and soon, transform and
lighting will be implemented too using DirectX 7 SDK.
We proudly proclaim to be the first REAL games development team
from Malaysia to use the latest technology such as the GeForce256
based GPU chipsets.
Visit us now! This project has taken us painstakenly 3 years and
more to do and it's nearing completion.
Our arsenals of best programmers you can ever find in Malaysia
are highly experienced in graphics programming, and our
best artists are ANIME experts in 3D mechs using Kinetix 3D studio
max for the art and models.
We are proud to introduce ourselves, the immortal Malaysians :)
below:
1. RISC - Project organizer and quality control.
2. Astral - Lead programmer for game and engine.
3. Flash - Tools programmer and professional algorithm expert.
4. Xakhon - Kinetix 3D Studio MAX artist and expert Mech designer.
5. Asuka - Kinetix 3D Studio MAX artist and graphics quality control
department.
Visit us at our websites soon, Cricyst will rock the world and
trigger an earthquake in Malaysia. We may not be the first, but
we are definitely going to be the BEST (We are technically there
already..) Unlike other soon to be dead or already dead self-proclaimed
Malaysian Game Development companies, we are the real ones and
have very highly skilled programmers and artists who are the best
there is in Malaysia. Other game companies wannabes are either dying
or dead. Long Live the Mamak Team !!!! Wooh! Wooh! Wooh! Wooh!

"Heh...heh...."
3 years and not even a demo up, by the time you guys finish the project, MS
should be releasing DirectX 10.
That's because QUALITY is the most important factor in our projects
and all the members agree.
Unlike the other so called Local game developers (You know who you are)
who churn out half-assed quality product that cannot even compete
with the quality sharewares from international markets, we guarantee
that our game will beat Raystorm and have at least Quake2/Half-Life
quality.
Expect lotsa 3D special fx features that will mesmerize your eyes
using the latest Directx 7.0 and it will support transformations and
lighting in Hardware using GeForce256 chipsets.
Just in case anyone can't remember, let me remind you of the so called
local game companies that are officially dead and out of business
for inactivity or page change
Exceron of Ziron multimedia... http://www.ziron.com now the 'expert'
is spamming newsgroups trying to sell his web commerce software.
Webworks from hitechniaga and their 3 big game projs that is now
reduced to one called destiny that hasn't shown any progress yet.
No more news since 2 years ago. No web update for long long time.
IISB who released that lame low-res 8-bit 2-bit 2D shooter that isn't
fit to be called the First game of Malaysia because it only shames
our beloved country's name.
We will be the FIRST REAL Malaysian game developer who releases
the FIRST REAL GAME with the FIRST to use high-quality 3D engines!
We will ROCK the world and destroy the other local game companies
and humiliate their pathetic existence.. (They do not deserve to
exist for putting out crap or nothing in the first place)
From,
The MamakTeam ... We're the best, as always.
Soon there will be 3D real-time screenshots. AND downloadable
versions of the game!
>
> Define REAL GAME. Many people has done a game before including me. So
you

REAL GAME as in 3D REal-tIME. Unlike other local game developers
that either do 2D only games or have none at all, we will bring
Half-life and Quake2 quality 3D game, for Malaysians, by Malaysians.
Real game as in a game that is programmed by professional teams
specializing in DirectX and Win32 instead of half-assed DOS
programmers who writes 2D shooters.

Microsoft has the largest command of market share, and soon IE5
will be too, if it isn't already. Why support multiple browsers
and waste time when you only need to support the one and only best ?
IE5 is so convenient and the security of hiding the javascript
makes it an ideal platform. Get real, Microsoft is THE standard
and we wouldn't endorse any other browsers or products not from
MS. You anti-microsofties are just too hard-headed to realize
the real world. Besides, webpages on IE5 makes them more sophisticated
than those from netscrap.

No, YOU GET REAL. Why consider the lower-end hardware when the
game players always have the most updated hardware?! Who the hell
wants to have a slow system if playing games ? So it's not wrong
to require the best hardware for our game!

We will live up to it, We will make sure we win the PIKOM finals
for multimedia Title. We will beat the other titles and competitors
off the multimedia market.

Haha, but we ARE the best ? Do you see any other 3D game development
companies in Malaysia ? hahahaha. None! Most can't even do proper
2D games, much less 3D games ? Too many lamers around who can't
really code. Like i said, we will show Malaysians that we are the
best, and you WILL agree with us.

Haha, flamed ? what's that ? It doesn't exist in my dictionary. :P
From,
The Mamakteam,
risc,astral,flash,xakhon,asuka.
We know the best way and right way. We won't waste time on non-IE5
users. IE5 has the best features any web developer can dream of, so
we will use it's features and stick with it.
> And they are so damn cocky, from what I can see from their postings.
There is nothing wrong with that as long as you know you are good
enough and the best.

The game has already impressed many people here in Johor Bahru.
We are already well-known and we dare say no one from Penang
or KL can even come close to what we have.

We're highly respected in Johor and just ask any PC shops in Holiday
plaza and they'll know who we are. As for bad name, nah, people will
remember us for our 3D masterpiece. Don't be too jealous of us. :P

Hahah, other local game developers ARE failures! Don't you think so ?
They've not come up with anything that is of international standards,
and only know how to publish crap old dos products. If these kind of
people can win PIKOM, then i suppose we can win international game
programming competitions then ? haha.

You claimed to have written a game, mind sharing what is it about
with us ? :)
From,
The Mamakteam.
We bring Malaysian 3D to your Malaysian world.

Well, er... er... Malaysia Boleh?
BTW, let's hope that this game won't get absorbed by EA or else... have
to end up paying RM100++ for that Malaysian-made game...

Your big loss. Sounds like you guys are incompetent. Supports only the best
and ignore the rest.
So, I wonder what is the requirement of your games????
Let me guess.....
AMD 1GHZ
4GB RAM
100GB Harddisk
GeForce256 only
and we have no plans to support lesser machine. We are the best of the best.
So we support only the best!!!!!!
Get REAL!

Talk is cheap. How about sending your game to independent reviewers like
gamecenter.com
gamersdepot.com
cnet.com
and let them review your "game". It's fair don't you think.

i've been to your website (www.mamakteam.com) and i kind of like your
interface. quite ok, but it seems to lack any contents. i'm using IE5 but i
can't seem to get anything from your menu. in the 'About Us' menu, none of
the info can be retrieved... dunno if it's my browsers that in-compatible or
the contents are just not there...hmmmm
btw, if you are really releasing a half-completed site for the public, makes
me wonder about your game software...
come to think of it, as you are not putting effort to cater to everybody by
supporting only IE browsers and not Netscape browsers, it'll also make me
wonder what your game doesn't support...
a word of advice, everything you say/publish/do anywhere reflects on
you/your company/your products.
pride comes before a fall... [did i quote it correctly?]
just my 5 cents

Well, we all know who we are. There are those of us who have done what we
specialise in.
Being cocky is one thing.. I gotta admit that most professionals in almost
every field has the
same attitude. But there is also how well do you know yourselves?
But tell me something. Exactly how well do you think you will do with an
attitude like that?
Sure, people may like your games, but what's to stop them from pirating it?
Think about it.. The
more people are annonyed with your attitude, the less likely they are to
fork out money for
an original copy. Copy protection? In the old conflict between warhead and
armour, the warhead
will always win in the end.
You talk about reality. There's more to reality than just coding skill
alone.
Think about it :)
ciao!

Do you realise the real world then? So tell me, what do you know of
marketting,
buyer behaviours, etc.? Microsoft is only the standard to the blind.

Sure.. nothing wrong with that.. But reality check once again. Have you done
your marketting work yet?

Ego again.. soon, one of you is gonna think that he/she has contributed more
work
than the others, and deserves more credit. Then comes the tempting thought
that you
will not need the rest of the group members, and start to strike out on your
own.
Then comes the breakup of the group and the lawsuits to see who owns what
code :)
Hey.. u guys better watch ya backs.. Who knows who in your team is having
really
high ambitions there :P

Seriously.. I think that your main problem will be in persuading people to
buy original
copies of your game and not just pirate.. Now that is reality. Code and
gamewise,
you might be a success.. but does the rest of the world care? :)

What about MKA ... Most Kaypoh Award..... mamakteam sure win 1.
BTW, why mamakteam ?
1.) They are all "mamak" ?

Good, but what's the point if your page isn't viewable to all?
|
| Microsoft has the largest command of market share, and soon IE5
| will be too, if it isn't already. Why support multiple browsers
| and waste time when you only need to support the one and only best ?
| IE5 is so convenient and the security of hiding the javascript
| makes it an ideal platform. Get real, Microsoft is THE standard
| and we wouldn't endorse any other browsers or products not from
| MS. You anti-microsofties are just too hard-headed to realize
| the real world. Besides, webpages on IE5 makes them more sophisticated
| than those from netscrap.
Largest command of share? Yes, it's true but that figure is for the whole
world man. In Malaysia, more than 70% Internet users use Netscape
Communicator/Navigator for surfing. I know IE5 is the best browser but the
number 1 rule of a very good webpage is support for leading browsers. What
do you think about Netscape? A minority?. And web standard is not determined
by Microsoft but the W3 consortium ( have you ever heard of that ?).
Netscape is the strict follower of W3 standard and when NC5 come out,
Netscape-specific HTML codes is history. Your webpage, while is nice but no
NC support make it the lowest quality webpage I've ever known and see. If
you can't ever design a decent webpage that viewable by all people out
there, IE fans and anti-microsoft alike, I only maybe come into the
conclusions that you can't ever design a decent game either.
| We know the best way and right way. We won't waste time on non-IE5
| users. IE5 has the best features any web developer can dream of, so
| we will use it's features and stick with it.
Poor attitude, at least from me.
| >
|
| No, YOU GET REAL. Why consider the lower-end hardware when the
| game players always have the most updated hardware?! Who the hell
| wants to have a slow system if playing games ? So it's not wrong
| to require the best hardware for our game!
You can play Unreal Tournament on a pentium mmx PC smoothly. Not everyone
has the sources to upgrade their computers especially in this current
economic situation.
| We will live up to it, We will make sure we win the PIKOM finals
| for multimedia Title. We will beat the other titles and competitors
| off the multimedia market.
Good luck then...:)
|
| There is nothing wrong with that as long as you know you are good
| enough and the best.
The best among the Malaysian or among the world? You can compete with the
like of epic megagames and id software programmers?
| The game has already impressed many people here in Johor Bahru.
| We are already well-known and we dare say no one from Penang
| or KL can even come close to what we have.
|
Beta tester you mean?. Damn. If you think that you're pretty good, best of
the best, then try to impress the guys at http://www.avault.com or
http://www.sharkyextreme.com etc.
then by giving a demo. No point to point out that 'we are famous at JB' or
something like that. I don't to discourage local programmers like the mamak
team; instead I'm proud if they can produce something that can give Q3A and
UT or Halflife guys a run for their money.

I don't play games at the first place, err, even if I do, that
will the Solitair on the microsoft windows... kih kih kih ... but I
still must praise you on your "success" in developing sucha game geh,
even though my fellow kommies said u haven't post any demo and things
like that to satisfy their curiosity, and even you sounded rude in our
newsgroups, and you make non-sensible comments that most will just
take it as joke-of-the-day. But it is still something worth
congratulating geh... after all u people have did it with high hope
and hard work....
And also is worth mention because you all have the outstanding
courage in telling people about these... with lotsa pride in within
too... not worrying if it is something actually lousy (not sure yet,
just putting as example.)
It comes a long way before you will actually get a nod from people
and approve from them upon ur success. And I bet u know that better
than me. Not that you have done anything wrong from creating this
game, but u have have good PR yet... and there are doinks out there
that would love testing your patience and they exist every where...
tau lah macam mana buat ye ?

I think we should all stop posting anymore in this header, coz why
talk to someone who doesn't appreciate you?
I wouldn't comment on the game, coz no one really seen it.
But as a businessman, if he/she can't accept comments or suggestions
given by the consumers, how would he/she be able to understand what
others needed? Wasn't this a very basic rule of thumb? I don't think
we need to hold a degree in Management to understand this simple
statement.
How about the issue of designing their site to be viewed by only IE5
browsers?
Since 3 years is already taken to materialize such a major project,
why not at least take another 3 weeks to make the site a
multi-browsable one?
Pardon me if I am wrong, but shouldn't a website be multi-browsable in
order to reach a wider range of audience out there? This will make the
consumer think that these developers are considerate. Otherwise, they
will feel kind of isolated.
And as for needing the most up-to-date hardware to play a game, what
would most people think? Okay, this will make a game more powerful,
either in graphics or interface, but what's the point if it can't sell
to a wider range of consumers?
I mean, all these actually is easily concluded into a simple sentence:
"treat others as you would one others to treat you"
or basically, understand the word "human".(this is the species you are
dealing with, anyway)
And good luck to the mamakteam too. You guys have a very bright
prospect but don't let it go to your head.
In business, customer comes first.
Thank you (hey, where's the clapping?)

put out pure lame crap.

or even Singapore ?

Why ? You can't forget about DX 7 just as you can't forget about
DX 6.1 You cannot ignore technology, you must embrace it. :)
And we proudly declare ourselves, the Mamakteam, to be the first
REAL game development group that also is the first to use the
DirectX API and version 7.0 at that.

That is your loss. You are not a genuine game player anyway.
The real game players will want GeForce256 because that is how
all the cards will go in the future.
> 9.So eksy!
Not really, we think we deserve to feel that way because we sweat
for 3 years to make the game. We put a lot of effort into the game
and the game dev tools that we custome made for ourselves. We think
we deserve the right to be , in your words 'eksy'.
> 10. How much it would cost in the 2001?[assume u roll out next year]
The game will cost less than RM 30 ringgit and it will be a download
from the Internet after you pay for them. We have no plans as of yet
to stamp CDs or make boxes, but we will not rule that option out.

Regards,
Risc, The Project Leader of MamakTeam.
No we won't. IE5 is THE STANDARD browser and will remain so in the
future. It is feature rich for web developers like me who works
in Singapore. It works very well with VB developed programs.
Anyone who don't use IE5 is seriously screwed up in the head.
Let's face it, IE5 is the future and soon all websites will
support IE5 only feature sets.
> i'm using Netscape Gold 3.01 but still can acess the server.
> Trick? disable the java script ler...HAHAHA
>
Sure you can, but you can't get to see anything or even the
news page. Bare in mind that only IE5 can decode the jscript.encode
encrypted javascripts. One more reason we use IE5 like i said, is
the encryption of javascripts so that lamers and thiefs can't
steal our javascript codes. IE5 users should notice the kool
transitions and wipe effects on the webpage. :)
Now we certainly do not want people who can't code, to enhance
THEIR own website by stealing our code, do we ? :)
Regards,
Risc,
the Mamakteam project leader, organizer, marketer.

Ok if you aren't rude as what do you think, please answer this question;
Did the software you use is all legal question ( e.g. 3D Studio Max ).

They said that about Microsoft Windows unable to become the standard
OS of choice. Come on let's face it. Linux won't ever take over
Windows. Linux is just too crappy and only techies who can't make
money with their programming skills will use it or even code for it.
Too many lamers in Malaysia installing linux just so they can compile
those net exploits and call themselves hackers.
But back to IE5... It will take over the browser market as a standard,
whether you like it or not. Microsoft has always won every round and
i fully will not endorse development tools or API not from Microsoft.
Opengl is a piece of slow crap. It's slower than Direct3D. I can't
believe people are putting up with that crash bug called Netscrap.

People who denounce Microsoft, are people who are jealous of

Macromedia are tools for woosies. I can't believe they can allow
crap companies like Articulate Multimedia to win PIKOM when they
are using crappy non-programmer tools like Macromedia. They're so
lame. They do not deserved to be called programmers.

You ARE foolish. I am chosen by the team to be the project leader
because I am best at organizing the team, and I am also the one
who insists on all new special fx to be added into the game.
It will be full of FX and we will not settle for any less.
Quality is of priority above everything else, even my main
artist, ASUKA agrees with me. We cannot sacrifice anything
for quality. ASUKA will never allow polygon count of his
3D sprites to be reduced to support inferior 3D cards.
I myself will never allow that either.

Our 3D game, Cricyst, will definitely blow out the rest of the other
crap games produced by local Malaysian game developers and we will
definitely blow out some international competitors as well. Namco's
Raystorm is not as good as our upcoming 3D shooter. :)

GeForce 256 will be the ideal card of choice for Cricyst. But
we do support other cards too, but you won't get to see all the
best FX. We highly recommend the GeForce chipset cards. They're
currently the best and fastest in the market.

2D arcade scrollers are a thing of the past. Only programmers who
live in the past and unable to keep up with technology of 3D are
forced to be stuck in the 2D world. We pity any game programmers
who is embarking on a 2D game project, we pity even more if
it's by local game developers. Then again, the less competition for
3D, the better.. (Not that there are many, or any at all competition
in 3D games from other Malaysians. ;))
> So you say. Prove it, boys. Lets see how great (or SHIT) your game is.

It will not be 'sh*t' as you call it. It will be the best product
you'll ever see coming from Malaysian teams, and that's us, the
MamakTeam. Please be patient as we are implementing the Transform
and Lighting features to fully utilize the capability of GeForce.
I must say those who don't have a GeForce are really missing out
on what Cricyst has to offer. :)

And we know more than him about coding real 3D games. So we prefer
to use our grey matter mostly for the coding part.

They may not use directx 7.0 now, but soon everyone will switch to it,
as always... and DirectX 8.0 is in the works now. We are simply so
excited over version 8.0, since we've almost fully mastered DX 7.0's
features already.

Opengl will die. It is a known fact that Opengl is 30-40 percent
slower than Direct3D for games. Carmack is just an anti-microsoftie
who refuses to give in, and is stuck in OPENGL forever because of
his pride.. he couldn't use D3d even if he wanted to because that
will make him lose face. Besides, he never could master the D3D
api anyway, and that's something we did that he couldn't and we're
proud of that.

You work ? I thought you're still a young immature newbie. :P
I do have a family to support too, that's why I work in Singapore
and get above average salaries and still have time left to
lead the Cricyst 3D game project. Girls ? Sure ! Can't live
without them sharing my bed with me. ;)

Assumptions, assumptions. Let's get this straight. No matter what Micro$loth
says, IE5 cannot and must not be the industry standard browser. It cannot be
made the standard because of the things Microsoft would do to the HTML
standard. Would you like to *have* to upgrade your browser every few months
with patches, just so you can view the bestest 'pages? Do you want your
beloved HTML to become a "close-standard" markup language, full of
propetiery (ooh, big word, probably misspelt...) features that would make
designing homepages a big pain in the derriere? Course not... that's why
HTML is still open-standard... I think. Of course, the same should apply to
Netscape, of course.
And no, I'm no Netscape fanatic. I'm still using the browser I got with my
PC -- IE4, mainly because I couldn't be arsed to download either IE5 or
Communicator. By my experience, both browsers are as slow, behemoth-like,
and both are as unstable as the other. And I've used both of them, thank you
evry much. Extensively.

HAHAAHAHAAHAHAHAHA!!!! *cough* *cough* *cough*. *ahem*. How foolish. Even a
little child like me can see that flaws on that statement.
No, really. That sweeping, generalized statement is sooooo hilarious. We
have not seen what Netscape can do yet, and we don't even know if there will
be any new contender that will jump in and blast both behemoths (and they
*are* behemoths... download sizes are hell...) out of the ring. Remember
this folks -- Linux was an unknown OS for years, and now everyone is talking

Oh... and this feature is only available to IE5 users. Why can't you guys

Why not? Would you appreciate it if people who want to learn how to code

right then. Be that way. I'd like to see you learn a complex new language

Only the GeForce256 chipset? What abput the Voodoo families? Or those stuck

people say, but I'm guessing that most game developers cater for these
low-end cards because they know that their rice bowl will come not from
people who have the Bullshitronic Super Bastard Ninja Card 9000 and
Super-Potato-chips for microprocessing, but from the average Joe. And your
assertion that your game will require a 3D card for those graphics is
pointless. Companies like Valve (of the Half-Life fame) and Relic (of the
new Homeworld) know the value of software mode. You can play those games is
software and enjoy it (albeit jerkily). You may whine "but our graphics is
too good for your card!". Bullshit. You're lazy and you know it. I've seen
Homeworld. I played it for 15 minutes thinking it was on H/W accelration
before I realized that it wasn't. If Relic can do it, certainly you can!

What other game developers? Oh, you mean those people who are churning out
those 2D arcade scrollers? Do you know how entertaining those games are?
They're like peanuts, man! Sure, they taste like charcoal, make you sick and
sure ain't healthy, but once you start, can you stop? Like hell.
Besides, does your game have anything to do with plate tectonics? So what is
this talk about earthquakes?

What do you think most gamers are using right now to play Homeworld? Cheese
and Crackers? What is it I hear you say? DirectX 7.0? Brilliant!
Besides, what about OpenGL? Is OpenGL as dead as Netscape? From what I hear
from people (such obscure people like John Carmack -- some unimportant guy
who made some silly FPS. What was it called? Quake? Yeah, maybe. :) ),
OpenGL is much friendlier than DirectX 7, programming-wise. I don't know
why... I'm just a newbie.

Bullshit. Only the deepest idiot believes that a true gamer is a fool who
buys the latest hardware for his games every week. A True Gamer (turn up the
patriotic music, boys!) is a person who loves his games, and can see the
beauty in an otherwise graphically bland game (like Half-Life) and see the
true ugliness in games that have more surface than substance (I'm not giving
names. I don't want to start another holy war).
The essence of all games is gameplay, not graphics. It holds true on every
game. Which is why Worms 1 & 2 is in 2D and rock, and [insert lame
3D-shooter here] is 3D and sucks. Great graphics do not a great game make.
I have known people who can pierce the thick layer of gloss in a game and
mock its putrid insides... and I have seen them praise games that are plain
in the outside but more addictive than crack cocaine in the inside.
Besides, not all of us are rolling in dough. Most of us have girlfriends and
families to support. You know girl-friends? How about fa-mi-ly? You know
that? :)

No you don't. By the way, where's your game? Can we see it first? Let us see
it, let us praise it. If (or when) we do, your heads can be as big as you
want 'em to be. And I'll apologize. Publicly. But I have to like the game.
Don't worry, my opinion of the developers never bias my decision about their
games. Probably.

That won't work. I can see the problems you'll face. First off, no-one will
blow RM30 for a game that they will have to download. I won't, for one
thing. Neither will my friends (maybe). Let's face it... how will you

So what? I'm jealous. Oooh. I'm jealous of people who have yet to make any
mark in the Global Gaming Industries. My goodness. No, not really. You want
to know who I'm jealous of? I'll tell you. Demi Hassabis, 21 years old. Who
is he? Co-creator of Theme Park. You know, the classic Bullfrog game. Take
note: He was 14 at that time, and at that time, there was no DirectX. Or
OpenGL. It was DOS. Do you know how painful programming at that time was? He
is now 21 years old, and has founded Elixir Studios. He's signed up with a
big company. For a child younger than you, he's done a lot. I envy him. I
dream at nights of killing him slowly. But I am swayed away from such
thoughts because if he were to die, a legend would die.
>> So I'll do it by dissecting their article and making fun of the bits.
>Let's
>> get to it, shall we?
>
>OOoo... Sounds like some jealous grape can't sit still and put up with
>our abilities and masterpiece.
Oooo... and thus he continues with the same argument. There*fore*, our next
example! Paul Molyneux, former head of Bullfrog -- now head of Lionhead plc.
Creator of Syndicate, Dungeon Keeper, Theme Park, Syndicate Wars! All before
DirectX or during its infancy. Now he is doing a game called Black & White,
a... something or another. Is famous for doing games that defy description
and categorization, and well-known for his design philosophy of creating and
enviroment that does not wait for the player! He is approximately twice your
age, and has done approximately six times the amount of work you've done. I
hate him, admire him and envy him. If he were to die, the gaming world would
mourn.
But DirectX is sloppier than OpenGL. I assume you know that. Besides, the
DirectX-OpenGL and Internet Exploiter-Netscrape Confounder holy war is just
that -- a holy war. Pointless, irrational and not worth pursuing. Both have
advantages and disadvantages of their own. I wonder why id isn't using
DirectX for their Quake III Arena... makes you wonder, doesn't it?
Anyway, you fail to serve the public by not allowing those blessed with IE5
in to your site. I think that would be to your bests interests if you were
to at least hire someone to open the gates of your sites to others.

No-one is jealous of Microsoft. (a lie) But we are sick of seeing our PCs
crash over and over again. Do you know the bliss that lies in
Macintosh-land? Rare crashes... if only our games were made for the Mac, I
could finish my games sooner and not f*** (oh dear, profanity) around with
DirectX. Besides, this isn't about Bill Gates. It's about you.

Who asked them to be? Must you be a programmer to be a great website

We're talking about the quality and the accesability of your site. Not
Microsoft's market share. I don't work for Microsloth or Netscrape. Why in
the Nine Circles of Hell should I care about either company, or their foul
market share?
A good effort. That's nice. Do you know, you're beginning to resemble the

You better sacrifice something. Even level editors know better than to
overflow poly counts! And you want script kiddies... quake and half-life
level editors usually are.
Sloppy procedure... code and data optimization must be done. You should know
that. The other games-dev companies are doing it (the ones in America and
Europe, silly).
Why not you? And don't tell me you're not aping the west and you're sticking
with Eastern values. Paved roads are a western idea. So are cars. And the
MRT. And the Causeway. What's wrong with another Western idea?
Up your system specs in hope that others will upgrade just for your game? It
has happened so many times, with so many games. Terracide, for one.
Wanna try it? Go ahead. You'll be ignored by so many of us. And your effort
will die before it is born. It's as simple as that.

address, and the fact that you've also not had the courage to listen to the
more decent of us. Play by your rules, kid. Play by them and die.

I don't need any programming skills to know that 3D engines are a pain to
code. Kudos for that, at least. But I'd like to know whether this will be a
real game... and signs aren't promising...

weaponry is balanced. You guys doing multiplayer?

So 2D is dead. Bravo. I wouldn't have known. You are right, of course... 2D
is dying, and going the way of the text adventure. For me, it is a great
pity. What I fear, of course is the fact that with the death of 2D, gameplay
will die too, just like I feared the death of plot when text-adventure games
died. So far, I am not disappointed. Half-Life has shown me that
gameplay can still live in an FPS. And System Shock 2 has astounded me with
it's plot. So don't disappoint me, boys. Don't disappoint us. You'll be
laughed out of here, should you fail.
