Job Summary

The Virginia Department of Transportation (VDOT) is seeking an experienced IT Program Manager with strong expertise in Microsoft Power Platform to lead and oversee enterprise-level initiatives. This role requires a strategic leader who can manage multiple projects, collaborate with cross-functional teams, and drive digital transformation using Power Platform technologies.

 

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and manage large-scale IT programs focused on Microsoft Power Platform (Power Apps, Power Automate, Power BI, Power Pages).
• Oversee multiple concurrent projects, ensuring alignment with business goals and timelines.
• Collaborate with stakeholders, business leaders, and technical teams to define program scope, objectives, and deliverables.
• Drive governance, best practices, and standards for Power Platform implementation.
• Manage program budgets, timelines, risks, and resources effectively.
• Provide leadership in Agile/Waterfall project environments.
• Ensure successful delivery of solutions that enhance business processes and operational efficiency.
• Communicate program status, risks, and milestones to executive leadership.

 

Required Qualifications

• 8+ years of experience in IT Program/Project Management.
• Recent, hands-on experience managing Power Platform projects.
• Strong understanding of:
• Power Apps
• Power Automate
• Power BI
• Power Pages
• Proven experience managing enterprise-level or government IT programs.
• Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and leadership skills.
• Experience with Agile and/or Scrum methodologies

 

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience working with state or government clients.
• Microsoft Power Platform certifications.
• PMP, PgMP, or Scrum certifications.
• Familiarity with Azure and cloud-based solutions.
