Summary
We are seeking an experienced Application Support & Maintenance Engineer (L2/L3) with strong expertise in BMC Control-M to provide production support, maintenance, monitoring, scheduling administration, troubleshooting, and continuous improvement of enterprise batch processing environments. The ideal candidate will be responsible for ensuring the availability, reliability, and performance of business-critical batch workloads, file transfers, and automated job scheduling processes across distributed and mainframe platforms.
The role requires hands-on experience in Control-M administration, workflow scheduling, incident management, root cause analysis, and collaboration with application, infrastructure, database, and business teams in a 24x7 support environment.
Day to Day job Duties: (what this person will do on a daily/weekly basis)
Application Support (L2/L3)
Provide L2/L3 support for Control-M scheduling and workload automation platforms.
Monitor daily batch operations and ensure successful completion of scheduled jobs.
Investigate, analyze, and resolve job failures, scheduling issues, and workflow interruptions.
Handle incidents, service requests, and problem records within SLA commitments.
Perform Root Cause Analysis (RCA) and implement preventive actions.
Coordinate with application, database, infrastructure, and business teams during major incidents.
Participate
in on-call support and critical production support activities.
Required Experience
5+ years of application support experience.
3+ years of hands-on Control-M administration and support.
Experience supporting enterprise production environments.
Strong knowledge of batch processing, workload automation, and job scheduling.
Experience working in 24x7 support operations.
Familiarity with ITIL processes and service management practices.
