I have the same problem. most if not all of my jpg photos on dropbox on my pc will not open. They have an x on each of them and when I try to open any of them, I'm told either it's an unsupported type of file, (which it's not) or my hard drive is corrupted, which I doubt very much. If I go to my dropbox.com account in the cloud, all the photos are ok. I can probably download them all but I was hoping there would be an easier solution as that would take many hours to do.
Yes, you can speed this up with a binary search method to narrow it down (delete the first half of the folders, then the second half, ...), but remember that there may be more than one corrupted element (the christmas lights nightmare). Once you narrow it down, you could go into that folder and muck around looking for the problem, or if it isn't too major (my last one was just a selection set, so nothing major), just leave it out and build that element over again. The fact that the master XML file is now referencing a missing element may or may not throw an error or a warning, depending on how vital it is, but in my experience, it seems to make do okay.
In fact, I move "text, lines and shapes" instead of "all" because axlTransformObject cannot treat DIMENSION object. but it seems that by this way, something of the linear dimension stays at its previous place. So an axlExtentDB is made without it but the database becomes corrupted due to it and its location.
Hello Team, My BMPR file just got corrupted and I was working on an important document to be submitted today. I have sent a mail to support. I will appreciate all the assistance I can get as I have tried to retrieve from the local files but the most recent file is not there.
The sfc /scannow command will scan all protected system files, and replace corrupted files with a cached copy that is located in a compressed folder at %WinDir%\System32\dllcache.
The %WinDir% placeholder represents the Windows operating system folder. For example, C:\Windows.
Note Do not close this Command Prompt window until the verification is 100% complete. The scan results will be shown after this process is finished.
To repair the corrupted files manually, view details of the System File Checker process to find the corrupted file, and then manually replace the corrupted file with a known good copy of the file.
After you determine which system file was corrupted and could not be repaired through the detail information in the Sfcdetails.txt file, find where the corrupted file located, and then manually replace the corrupted file with a known good copy of the file. To do this, follow these steps:
Note You may be able to get a known good copy of the system file from another computer that is running the same version of Windows with your computer. You may perform a System File Checker process on that computer to make sure the system file that you intend to copy is a good copy.
Copy Source_File DestinationNote The Source_File placeholder represents the path and file name of the known good copy of the file on your computer, and the Destination placeholder represents the path and file name of the corrupted file. For example, type copy E:\temp\jscript.dll C:\windows\system32\jscript.dll.
The i have 3 sealed (status:offline) and 1 active DDB (status:ready), all of them have corrupted partitions as when i try to run data verification job, the error mentioned previously happens [62:2483].
Generally speaking, it's a good idea to run a module from the Scheduler database instead of a local path unless that module is going to be updated frequently, and you want the module updates to be reflected when run from the Scheduler. If you do need to Schedule a module from a local path, however, there's several possible reasons why a module run can end up a "corrupted" state, but most likely the module isn't being found correctly by the Scheduler when it's time to execute.
I start to trouble-shooting. I restart the modem Factory reset, turning on the device while holding reset button with a clip until Power LED starts blinking amber - Didn't work.
I kept researching on the support pages and it seems the firmware is corrupted in someway. That's very disappointing, I read about doing the firmware update using tftp2.exe through a fixed manual IP address set on the adapter. Even though I have ping response frome the device, firmware update tool can't find the host(server), firmware update can't be done.
Is very unfortunately for me because if I have to send it back, I will have to pay duites and shipment fees.
I researched a little bit and guess what happened was, my router came with a firwmare that had a glitch where firmware can get corrupted if you make an update from the dashboard button, in some way happen the same what was prompted on the setting up phase. I also disable the automatic firmware updates options.
I've owned the MK63 mesh system (MR60 with two MS60 satellites) for over 1 year with no major issues. Recently upgraded the FW using the app to v1.1.6.122. The FW pushed through the MR and one of the MS satellites fine, but not to the 2nd MS. The impacted MS has a slow pulsing white light, which tells me the FW was corrupted during the update and never made it to the device. It seems the 2nd MS is not recognized anywhere in my network, but the app shows it with a purple dot. I even accessed the network via and the impacted satellite is not visible at all.
Hi Helge,
I've just confirmed that there's no antivirus running at the file server that's hosting the profiles. It is an EMC NAS storage.
But we've found something interesting: there're random disconnections on our XenDesktop environment (some LAN issues). We also found that, when the user tries to reconnect, sometimes open a new session in a new virtual desktop, but the other session is still open.
And statistically we've found that is more probable that a profile becomes corrupted after the same user reports a disconnection from his/her desktop.
Could it be a clue about this problem?
Thank you for your help.
We already solved this issue (well ... most of it).
In our case we identified an application that didn't close normally when the user wanted to logoff. Then, we wrote a logoff script to send a kill (sysinternal's pskill) to this application. This reduced about 98% of corruption events.
We still have some cases where ntuser.dar gets corrupted. We're implementing AppSense to solve these issues.
Hope this helps!
Case is open with Citrix but we are not making any progress and we have not been instructed on how we can diagnose this problem. Our UPM logs are being saved to the WriteCache drive of the VDA's but we do not know how to tell what VM the user was last logged in to that would have corrupted the ntuser.dat.
I suspect that many, such as myself use Mathematica because it is a high level notation that enables one to write code pertaining to things like language, geography, or mathematics. We want a system that runs smoothly and doesn't require us to get our hands dirty with even mid-level code for the operating system and file paths. Granted that Mathematica notebooks are complex and probably hard for the front end programmers to get just right, but a restore function should at least work within the notebook being restored. One should not have to create a separate notebook to define the restore function and then figure out a file path and run it, though I see that one could probably avoid that by putting the restore function in the same folder with the corrupted file. Even better, Restore could be a menu choice.
I write this as one who often encounters corrupted files that display poorly as .pdf files. This happens less often when I use only the default font in the default size, but I still have problems in version 11.6, especially with squares and square roots in Text cells, and quotients often break down into linear text with slashes for the quotient divider. Perhaps Mathematica should automatically run a restore function before every save or print to .pdf.
I recently spent a lot of time (30+ hours) completing an artwork using Adobe Fresco on my Ipad, the file is now un-openable. I spent what felt like five hours using Adobe's in browser support service to mearly be told, "Its corrupted, youre SOL" (paraphrasing, everyone who helped me was very nice). Can anyone help?
The file in question shows up in my Adobe Fresco home screen, and its thumbnail looks like my completed work. It will sometimes have the syncing icon on it, and the cloud button in the top right shows an error - "An error occured while syncing one or more documents. Fresco will continue trying to sync." However when I try to select the file, nothing happens. If I try to duplicate, rename, or otherwise edit it will produce an error - "The document could not be renamed / duplicated / whatever".
This is a little strange. I can also log on to one of my older files, but not to others old files. Some of them gives the following error message:
"Failed to load the specified file! The file is corrupted. The composite key is invalid! Make sure the composite key is correct and try again."
For whatever reason our admin never contacted support. I wound up having to delete the corrupted issues via SQL - which is usually the one thing you don't want to do (and of course on that particular system we had no backups in place) but that was all what was left to do. Sorry, no good news here.
