Super NOOB question traversing the tree nodes

I am not a developer. I don't even play one on tv. (If you get that joke, you are as old as I am.) I am in QA. I am writing automated regression tests. I need to use native properties and methods of the TLIST to traverse my tree to get to a desired node. Once I am positioned on the correct node, I am happy as a lark.

I can find lots of sample code for adding nodes, moving nodes... I find no samples for traversing nodes and identifying when desired node is found. Anyone have such a sample?
