Ihave an R7 and I was trying to connect it to the Camera Connect app so I could import some pictures from my camera to my iPhone. I'm able to connect to the app using bluetooth, but whenever I try to import photos or use any other functionality, the app says "Switching to a faster Wifi connection" which just hangs and never completes.

I've tried removing the camera from the app and re-registering it, deleted connection settings in my camera, and followed some steps to try to connect to the camera while it's off. None of these have solved my issue. Please let me know if anyone can help, thanks!

It has to be something with the camera's wi-fi profile. I noted you are initiating a new connection (which is correct). I have an Android, (working) so still trying to reproduce what you are seeing on my camera.

I have been looking and looking but to no avail, I cannot find a camera that has WIFI, well that is a lie, I find them, but none of them seem to connect to Dropbox directly. I just want to connect a camera to my HOTSPOT and as I take photos, they upload to a predetermined folder for the project I am working on.

Has this feature been added since this thread 2 years ago? I was looking at the Canon EOS Rebel T7 DSLR Camera with built-in Wi-Fi on (Links removed by moderator per Dropbox Community Guidelines) Would I be able to connect into WiFi and upload to Dropbox folder directly?

In my case low power mode is never activated. The issue is that the iPhone sees that it lacks internet connectivity through the Canon wifi network and disconnects, switching to some other wifi that does have internet connectivity. Basically, Apple favors routers that have full internet connectivity, and an iPhone can only connect to one router at a time.

Hi Ken, I hope you fixed the issue, if not, I had the exact same problem, what I done: erase the network profile in my iPhone, and in the camera I reset the adjustments so I can connect with my iPhone like the first time, now it works fine.

In this type of situation it sounds like a good idea to establish a fresh connection between the camera and phone. Before starting a new connection I recommend a couple of things. I would first uninstall the Canon Camera Connect App from your smartphone, reboot the phone, and then re-install the App. This will make sure the the App is completely uninstalled and latest version of the App is installed fresh.

I would then go to the Wi-Fi option in the 3rd Setup (yellow wrench) section of the camera's menu, and set Wi-Fi to disable. After disabling the Wi-Fi turn the camera OFF then back ON. Now go back to the Wi-Fi option in the menu and enable it.

Now select the Wi-Fi function option in the menu and choose the Connect to smartphone icon to begin the connection again. If the Connect to smartphone screen shows "Choose Set." and "Review/Change settings", pick the review change settings option to go through the setup process again. If the Connection method screen appears choose the "Camera access point mode" option and proceed through the setup instructions on the camera.

I have a G7x mark 1 and and iPhone SE running iOS 12.1.4. Camera Connect has been working fine for at least a year but has now stopped working (possibly with the latest iPhone OS upgrade). Now the iPhone recognises the camera WiFi in settings but the camera will not find the iPhone. I have been through the business of deleting the app, rebooting the phone and reinstalling the app (2.0.0) and also 'resetting' the WiFi on the camera it still will not connect. Help please. This has been a very useful app and I am dismayed that it now does not work.

I am having the same frustrations. The app worked the first time i used it and when I tried to use it the next day it said no camera was found. I tried all of the suggestions with no luck. It is insane that this app doesn't work.

Tried the above solution, I don't know if something changed with that application, but on my R5, Bluetooth works fine; trying to connect to Wi-Fi easy mode (Android), it just endlessly never connects. The phone tries, and the camera see's it trying, but it never connects. Absolutely frustrating.

Let's try clearing all wireless communication settings to start. In your WIFI menu #2, you will find reset communication settings. I have included a link to help walk you through the process, step-by-step.

Hi,

I cannot get my IP camera (ESCAM G02) working with Octoprint.

I assigned a fixed IP address to the camera and I can ping it from opctopi .

I can open the camera UI from a web browser connected to the same network and can see activity but I cannot see anything from octoprint.

I have tried many things with no success:

I have set:

htttp://cam IP:8080/action?=stream

htttp://cam IP:80/action?=stream

htttp://cam IP/action?=stream

There isn't a spot in Octoprint (that I have found) to integrate a camera that requires credentials. Maybe I'm missing some simple button, but, I don't think there would be a way to do this without some sort of plugin to allow for credentials to be entered BY Octoprint before you could achieve what you are attempting. And then add to it the existence of the control buttons (that also don't exist in Octoprint) adds yet another layer of complication

...and do a View Source to see if it's returning HTML or something like mjpg, for example. It's likely HTML. Somewhere in that HTML will be a reference to the actual sub-URL for the content itself. I'd grab that URL and then bring it into OctoPrint.

So now, how to make some awesome out of all this? I think I would roll over to this post about how to configure mjpg-streamer and plug in the original poster's snapshot URL instead of the standard one that OctoPrint uses.

This appears to be the documentation for the section in config.yaml to point OctoPrint's interface to whatever is responsible for streaming. Most of these are exposed to the Timelapse tab in OctoPrint. Mine looks like this:

Hi everyone. I, with my ipcamera, solved by putting these 2 url (taken from the page generated by the cam):

- :port/videostream.cgi?user=username&pwd=password

- :port/snapshot.cgi?user=username&pwd=password

Replace ipaddress, port, username and password.

The first is for streaming and the second one for taking snapshot.

Bye

I set up the RPi-Cam-Web-Interface from RPi-Cam-Web-Interface - eLinux.org. I set my Classic Camera Stream URL to _Cam_IPAdd/html/cam_pic_new.php and everything worked. I'm sure there are better options, but I'll use this until I get time to figure out something better.

Cameras disconnecting from WIFI randomly and won't reconnect unless I power cycle them, every once in a great while the camera will come back online after a few days. I can't always powercycle because I have them at two different homes 1700 miles apart, and the problem happens at both homes. Signal is strong 3 bars and at one home the speed is 950mbits/100 mbits. The other home is fiber, 940/940 mbits so upload at both homes really is not an issue. They work fine for days/weeks and then one goes offline and stays offline. Does it try to reconnect? If there is interference I would think I would see this happen all the time, but it's very hit and miss. Weeks with all working then one or two go offline. Very frustrating. Wish I knew what the cameras do when they detect they are offline, do they try to reconnect? No Base stations involved. Ironically its always the new Pro 5s cameras, NEVER, EVER the Arlo 4s. That's a clue for you ARLO.

If the internet connection is lost, or in the event of a power outage where connectivity with the router is lost, the cameras should attempt to reconnect once the connection can be re-established. When you notice a camera dropping offline, are any other devices on the network going offline at the same time or is it just an individual camera? Are you able to tell if there was a power outage or ISP outage at the time the cameras dropped offline?

Interesting observation on the 4 and 5. I have 16 cameras and only 2 are the 4s. Have not had a problem with them at all. But then all but one of my 5s has worked well. And the on 5 worked for 45 days. Finally got a replacement for the defective 5 having the intermittent disconnect problem. Problem is the replacement is a dud and it is not recognized by Wi-Fi or the hub. Have enormous amount of time invested troubleshooting and it just never ends. My original Arlo system was stellar.
