Thegenuine rkill.exe file is a software component of Rkill by Bleeping Computer.
Rkill is an anti-malware tool for removing malicious files. Rkill.exe runs Rkill. This program may be safely uninstalled if not required.
Rkill was developed as a simple utility for the Bleeping Computer malware removal guides to kill known processes. The program was later developed to import a registry file to remove incorrect file associations and fix security policies. In its current iteration, the program can automatically remove known threats. Rkill supports the Windows platform.
Bleeping Computer is an online resource tool for seeking computer and security related information. The website provides free services including removal instructions for rogue anti-spyware programs, malware and rootkit clean up of infected computers, and tutorials on the basics of hardware configuration, TCP/IP, partition management, internet security, and other subjects. The website was started in 2004 by Lawrence Abrams.
The .exe extension on a filename indicates an executable file. Executable files may, in some cases, harm your computer. Therefore, please read below to decide for yourself whether the rkill.exe on your computer is a Trojan that you should remove, or whether it is a file belonging to the Windows operating system or to a trusted application.
Important: Some malware camouflages itself as rkill.exe. Therefore, you should check the rkill.exe process on your PC to see if it is a threat. We recommend Security Task Manager for verifying your computer's security. This was one of the Top Download Picks of The Washington Post and PC World.
A clean and tidy computer is the key requirement for avoiding problems with rkill. This means running a scan for malware, cleaning your hard drive using 1cleanmgr and 2sfc /scannow, 3uninstalling programs that you no longer need, checking for Autostart programs (using 4msconfig) and enabling Windows' 5Automatic Update. Always remember to perform periodic backups, or at least to set restore points.
Should you experience an actual problem, try to recall the last thing you did, or the last thing you installed before the problem appeared for the first time. Use the 6resmon command to identify the processes that are causing your problem. Even for serious problems, rather than reinstalling Windows, you are better off repairing of your installation or, for Windows 8 and later versions, executing the 7DISM.exe /Online /Cleanup-image /Restorehealth command. This allows you to repair the operating system without losing data.
To help you analyze the rkill.exe process on your computer, the following programs have proven to be helpful: ASecurity Task Manager displays all running Windows tasks, including embedded hidden processes, such as keyboard and browser monitoring or Autostart entries. A unique security risk rating indicates the likelihood of the process being potential spyware, malware or a Trojan. BMalwarebytes Anti-Malware detects and removes sleeping spyware, adware, Trojans, keyloggers, malware and trackers from your hard drive.
Hello, I have been getting malware viruses while playing warframe and this is not the first time either this is around the 4th time. I have been playing for about 8 months now and this problem did not start until well into 5 months. I am able to remove this malware every time but it is annoying to get it while playing the warframe game via having problems that I am going to explain in my next sentence and I am hoping someone can help me figure out how to stop this malware leak in the game or if a developer can fix this with an update, anyhow lets get started. I use norton antivirus security suite which I get to use for free due to my parents comcast/xfinity subscription which cannot detect nor block this very high malware virus due to it entering my registry (also norton security suite is ranked around the top 1-3 best payed antiviruses as it detects almost the highest% of viruses than any other if not any antivirus programs) Once the malware starts working it deletes a certain amount of my settings which one of the settings it changes in my registry does in fact mess up my keyboard and makes it so when I press the 5 key for example it will do this % instead of 5 and yes my capslock is off and no I did not turn any button on that makes this happen as I am a very very techy laptop guy and I know more about laptops than most people including the os and viruses and network etc... I then run rkill.exe a malware killing program that also resets any registry and other settings areas in your laptop if it finds malware altered it and it tries to stop malware from running. rkill.exe after it ran fixed my keyboard but did not find any malware or so it claimed. SO moving on to the last part is the 2 malware viruses I found that I want DE to be aware of so I am going to post my log in a seperate post below so you can read it easily here in hopes the company can respond here and help me or in least try to.
Once I delete these viruses if I heavy game it is about a week or less that I end up with the same malware again. It does a good job trying to hide it's name and act like it is a part of the warframe download parts but believe me these two items are 100% malware because only malware can remove your computers registry settings and make your laptop not work right etc...

Ive never heard anyone nor seen any antivirus claim that any of the files from Warframe were actually malicious. They were always false flags. Likewise, Norton is not the best of antivirus or anti-malware out there and often has claimed incorrectly that files are malicious when they are quite harmless. Secondly, This issue, if it were actually a malware from DE, would be infecting thousands of people's PCs every day, and no one has reported it. They also have not had their 5 key flip its function to %. Lastly... a company would get into absolute deep legal trouble for distributing malware through their games.
I highly. HIGHLY doubt that your program is identifying the correct root of the problem. Norton has flagged files from Warframe incorrectly in the past, such as files from the tennogen package. AVG has also incorrectly flagged files. Avast as well. These programs are detecting files that behave similarly to known viruses without actually knowing that it is a virus/malware for certain, so they raise the alarms and drop the iron curtains. Generally the false flags are reported to the antivirus program company and they do a more in-depth search on the reported issues and verify whether or not it is accurate, then with that data they can rectify their detection algorithms.
Yeah I know it is some type of malware that keeps being added dude no matter what you think about companies and people not being infected. The one thing your totally wrong about is norton, norton has block all viruses on my laptop from streaming websites full of high viruses to etc website across the world so you don't know what your typing about and also I opened this forum not about accusations being made about the company etc... I made this blog about my malware that I know is a virus and if a pro techy were to dig deep in he or she would find out it is a virus by a 98% certainty I have on this matter of it being malware. Anyhow I opened this blog in hopes people have ideas about how to fix this problem, not thoughts or arguements about what I type, if you have nothing useful to tell me then no thank you cause I heard it all before on blogs in the past, I am seeking for pure help or solutions or a round about way to block this problem out if anyone knows anything please help me, thank you.
Also I took college classes dealing in computers and got my desktop support specialist certificate so I know a lot about computer problems and I also learned along the way even more since then. I also read up on norton and how people who talk down about norton and how it does not work good is not true and I as well know this now too, so you can type your false info above yadayada. I went to two different colleges because the first college had a student in my class sending viruses to my laptop and others in my class so I was not able to learn, anyhow long story short is at both colleges my instructers agreed with me that norton is in fact a safe and very powerful antivirus program that is among the the very best antiviruses out there today, and it blocks and catches high viruses that most others cant find even payed ones (while a couple of the students in my class did not believe that which I thought was stupid and ignored them so did the teachers because the truth is the truth Norton is among the best out there and xfinity/comcast knows this too because they got a brain like me and knows what program is best for a high end business that makes so much money from it's customers that they offer the premium version for free.
Need help please, done typing now and tired of explaining myself due to meatheads lol, not typing about Neithen above nor are my intentions of that word being used to be mean to anyone I am just typing in general about all the inconstant false forums and posts online about people that think they know something before they truly know if that is right, do your research before making Accusations, that is all I state and all I mean from it, no harm intended from my post nor was it ment to anyone but myself alright.
