I am using this library and the wire diagram for the Pro Micro however when I connect more than 1 TLC the next one has leds that stay on
for example the second TLC has pins 5, 6, 8, 9, 10, 11, 12 all turned on and it dose not continue the pattern as it should from the previous TLC.
However I connect the SIN of TLC 2 to the SIN of TLC 1 I get a perfect copy of with no unexpected results. I have tried rewiring it several time and used multiple TLC's with no luck.

Hi James,

To daisy-chain multiple TLC's:
 * connect the SOUT of the first chip to the SIN of the next one.
 * Change NUM_TLCS to 2 in tlc_config.h

If both chips show the same output when they receive the same data on SIN, then I think the problem is either the wrong pin for SOUT, or NUM_TLCS is still 1?

Hopefully this helps!

I did not mention previously I also changed the number of TLC's in the config to match my set up.

Thanks for the quick reply Alex I will have another look but I have wired this up several time now each time from scratch, I still have that tab open on my browser with the example of using multiple TLC's :).

As I say I can get the same data out of each TLC the problem is when I connect SOUT to SIN of the second TLC and alter the code then I get unexpected output.

I will test again a post back.

Thanks James.

So rewired and double checked changed code and the results are the same.

I cant see the problem as each TLC works fin on it's own but when daisy chained together then the problem starts I have even tried with some new TLC's.

Is there a wire diagram for a Leonardo as its the only other arduino I have to test with?

Now Solved

The solution was to close and then open the IDE after changing the number of TLC's in tlc_config.h
