Expanding to work with TLC5955

I am wanting to try and use the TLC5955 with an Arduino. I think I have the basic understanding of what to do. The functionality seems pretty much the same. The main thing I am stuck on is that with the 5955 you have to load in the current value through the serial at the beginning; it doesn't work with an external resistor. I have tried looking through the code but I am not finding where to add this in. However, I am very much a noob so I may have looked right over it. 

Any help would be great!!
