A TLA+ Community Meeting will be organized as a satellite of ETAPS 2025 (https://www.etaps.org/2025/) at McMaster University in Hamilton, Canada, on May 4, 2025. This will be the first TLA+ Community Meeting outside Europe. The meeting will bring together the community of users of the TLA+ specification language and its associated tools. Talks should present work of interest to users of TLA+ or PlusCal, such as but not limited to:

• Industrial and academic case studies
• New tools for TLA+ or add-ons to existing tools
• innovative uses of the TLA+ tools or reports on their shortcomings
• use of TLA+ in education

Please send a 1-2 page abstract summarizing the content of the contribution by February 7, 2025 to «tla2025» \o «@» \o «inria.fr», indicating whether you would like to give a long or short presentation (40 or 25 minutes, including discussion). Any additional material may appear in an appendix that will be read at the discretion of the program committee. Notification of acceptance will be sent by February 17. There will not be formal proceedings, but accepted abstracts and slides of the presentations will be made available on the web. Presentations of relevant work published elsewhere are welcome. Speakers at the TLA+ Community Meeting will be required to register for workshop participation at ETAPS 2025.

For up-to-date information, please consult http://conf.tlapl.us/2025-etaps/.

Currently http://conf.tlapl.us/2025-etaps/ cannot be resolved.

This has been fixed.

Background: The DNS CNAME record for conf.tlapl.us <http://conf.tlapl.us/> was deleted, but the IT department of the Linux Foundation has recreated it. Unfortunately, they are unaware of the reason behind its earlier deletion.

The program is online at https://conf.tlapl.us/2025-etaps/.

Participants will be required to register to ETAPS 2025.

We hope to see many members of the TLA+ community in Hamilton, Canada!

Best regards,
Markus

Thanks Markus, the registration for ETAPS is $1200 Canadian, which seems steep for those of us just attending the one-day TLA+ event. Is there a way to register for just the TLA+ event, and can you tell us how to do that?

I'm in the same boat...

On the registration site, I was able to click the "next" or similar button without putting ETAPS itself into the cart.

On one of the subsequent pages, there was an item just for the TLA+ workshop, which I put in the cart and paid for.

I hope this works for you.

Konstantin

Indeed, for attending the Community Meeting it should be enough to register for a one-day workshop, not the entire conference.

This was probably easy for all you PhDs to figure out. But in case any other muggles like me are having trouble, these instructions worked for me.
  • Go to https://register.mcmaster.ca/StarRezPortalXConference/550E4E91/25/28/Home-Conference_Registrat?UrlToken=990D0A6E
  • Create an account and/or log in
  • "General Registration"
  • Enter ETAPSGUEST25 and click "SEARCH"
  • Next to "European Joint Conferences on Theory and Practice of Software" click "SELECT"
  • Click "SAVE & CONTINUE"
  • Fill out the form, click "SAVE & CONTINUE"
  • On the screen with "Registration Fees" and three options for ETAPS, like "ETAPS - Regular Member Registration (Early Bird)", this is tricky, don't select anything, just click "SAVE & CONTINUE"!
  • Accept "Guest Expectations"
  • Find "TLA+" and "ADD TO CART"
  • Click "SAVE & CONTINUE"
  • Click "PAY NOW"

Early registration is ending on April 1st so it is good to book within the next few days if you want to also attend some ETAPS events.

The ETAPS website has a good guide for the specific building location on the McMaster campus and how to get there from the Toronto airport: https://etaps.org/2025/attending/

The linked page recommends taking a bus from the Toronto airport but you want to hang around Toronto for a bit you can also take the Lakeshore West rail line to Hamilton from Union Station in downtown Toronto, near the CN Tower; it takes about an hour and costs $13.60 one way: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lakeshore_West_line
