TKMCE 2016 Meet

This year is a special one for us. We are completing 40 years since we passed from TKMCE. I recall our discussions last year regarding the plans to celebrate this occasion. The general consensus was to have a two-day get-together on Oct 1-2, 2016.

It is time to plan, as we have to book accommodation etc for all at one place. Also our NRI friends need advance intimation to firm up their program.

Reg. venue we had a long discussion – Kochi, Alleppey, Kollam, Trivandrum, Hill Stations etc. Whereever it is, we need a local team to organize it. Based on discussions with some of our friends, it is proposed have the get together at Trivandrum.

So the program tentatively can be - arrive at Trivandrum on Sep 30^th evening or latest by Oct 1^st forenoon and be together for two days. Finer details can be firmed up based on suggestions.

As a first step we must have the contact list with correct email ID & Tel.Nos. Good effort was put in by Sosamma Mathews (Susan John) / Rose Mary (Rose Simson) and Pala Achan (Fr.Thomas Njavallil). But with all their effort, only the base could be done.

Dear All,

Since consensus seem to be emerging on Trivandrum, I am placing a suggestion to all of you that we hold this in the Karyavattoom Stadium - Sports Hub as it is called - which is a BOT asset the company I work for - IL & FS.  The stadium has a 45 room four-star Club House (undergoing fit-out), two simmin gpools, an extensive door court complex, a 2000 capacity convention centre and a Stadium which will be available to us to play friendly football or cricket, or for that matter, musical chairs.

This is the most advanced stadium a in the COuntry today, and I am a (proud!) Director of this by default! If these dates are free, I can see if we can rent it out.  Actually this fits our newly developed concept of Sports Incentive Tourism which is gaining ground fast.

You can enjoy vast open spaces, move around in the upper and lower concourses and take in breath-taking beauty of the landscape (up to the sea) and drink in fresh air!

Do let me know if this excites you! I will then see if we can get the stadium!

Dear all,

I am happy to note the exciting and encouraging responses.                      

Anil, it is a good idea to have a souvenir on the occasion. But we need a large volume of data. And the work has to start right now. I too can help you in collecting the details.

May be we will wait a little more regarding the proposal of sports complex for the venue. I expect much more than 45 families for the meet. We are yet to get a picture of it.

One major issue today we have is the communication. We have around 113 classmates. The mail list is only 70. Even in that, some are not functional. Many are IDs connected with their official address. Due to change of job, retirement etc: are they still getting it? I am not sure. Unless members respond, no way of knowing the defunct IDs.

My request to all is, please respond to confirm that you are getting the mails. Pl. add your current phone numbers and don't assume that all others too know them.

You may also give the details of our batch mates who are in contact with you (who are not included in the mail list). This is very important as it is the only way we can trace their whereabouts. We are yet to get in touch with nearly 40  more. Thank you Ram Mohan for giving the mail ID of  Satheeshkumar.
