A lion has fallen.  That he fell after living a full life is something we, who he has left behind to carry on his legacy in what ever small way, can be happy about. 

I would remember him as I would remember my Father - as a courageous, righteous, kind and loving person who brought up a herd of over a hundred bickering, naughty, noisy, dirty, but smart and able bunch of children!

I would always remember him for the silent but staunch support he gave us during our college days that moulded the sensitive character in all of us.

I would remember him for the silent communion which meant a world to all of us, put us at ease and taught us to enjoy his presence rather than "company".

All things in the World would come to a pass - all, including you and I.  The only inevitable destiny as Sir Thomas Grey says in his poem

The boast of heraldry, the pomp of power,

And all that beauty, all that wealth e'er gave,

Awaits alike the inevitable hour.

The paths of glory lead but to the grave

And in this Journey, in this path of Glory, let us thank Providence for giving us the opportunity to travel with George Sir.

I am sure you all join me in a solemn moment of fond remembrance - a moment to thank Heavens for giving him to us!

May his soul rest in peace!

I was at the burial ceremony today.  It was like bidding farewell to him going on a journey. 

There were at least a hundred people, most of them his students and colleagues.  What an honour!!

When we lose our parents - soon as the last of the two pass away - we all feel a void.  There is a sense of loss of bond that kept the family together.  A feeling that siblings meeting now and then will not happen any more, or there would not be the same alacrity any more.  And this feeling turns out to be true, more often than not.

George Sir was a point to which we rallied whenever a few of us got time.  It used to be an occasion just to unwind, in the presence of a person who wished only the best for all of us.  Such occasions gave us an opportunity to go back in time, be mischievous, laugh out loudly, bully, be bullied, indulge and/or just relax.  His absence makes it more important now that this should go on, so that we maintain our bonds.

Achan is the best person who can come closest to take his place.  As Ram said, we will all go by his direction.

The bond between your own brothers and sisters  are strong only when your parents are alive.

Achan is the prefect person to keep us together ,for that we all must see each other at least once in two years.

We used to gather every year in Jan or so. GeorgeSir used to ask for the gathering. Now we feel his absence . He was the inspiration and motive ,just to be in his presence and to be with friends. Some expressed fears that if we stop it it may stop .

Can we continue it ? Is 26th Jan 2016 Tuesday okay for a gathering at Kollam ? We  can share our thoughts of GeorgeSir and probably visit his house also.
