My printer is the Epson Expression XP-200, and I am unable to locate drivers for my printer. I have tried using "Add printer" to no avail. The Epson website does not list Linux drivers for this printer.

In the field under "Enter product name", if you type in your printer model (XP-200), then you should find a list of (four) drivers, two of which are printer drivers. (Remember to select "Linux" as the Operation System, though, or the correct drivers will not show up.)

Just upgraded my MacBook Pro to Ventura 13.0.1, and also applied the most current Epson drivers. While printing to my Epson Workforce 630 Printer/Scanner works properly, attempts to Scan a document hangs and never completes. Have already spend 2 hours on the phone with Apple Support. Any ideas on how to get the Scanner to connect?

Unble to scan using my Epson xp200 (printing functions properly) after upgrading to a 2020 MacBook Pro running Ventura. Epson support indicates there is no longer a scanner driver that works with Ventura and suggested I download Image Capture, which I have done. But when I open Image Capture, no devices are recognized. Epson Support said not to use a USB hub, but one is necessary since the 2020 MacBook Pro does not have a USB-A port. Then Epson provided a work around: Open Image Capture, click on FILE: TWAIN Reset. Then restart the printer. When I open Image Support, there is no File option (only Edit, View, Window and Help). Any suggestions?

I don't like ScanSmart from Epson, so I thought I would just download the drivers from the Epson site and then I could use Apple's ImageCapture or Preview to scan. But that didn't work; I didn't get the Mac Studio to recognize the scanner, though it was plugged in and available during the installs.

I resorted to download the whole utilities and drivers combo installer. With the e200 connected by USB to my computer and powered on, I did the complete install. Unlike the barebones installers for the drivers, the Epson installer for the combo prompted me through the whole install, including connecting to the scanner and making a test scan.

ImageCapture, as someone in this discussion mentioned, is a very serviceable app that Apple provides as part of the standard system install (no need to download it, as they said). You can scan documents from ImageCapture, or you can even directly scan from Apple Preview (Preview--> File --> Import from [name of scanner]).

First of all, ESET takes information about available updates from Windows itself. In the advanced setup -> Tools -> MS Windows Update, make sure that Critical updates are selected. These are selected by default.

Hello,

Try opening Device Manager (filename; DEVMGMT.MSC), navigating to the entries for the EPSON XP-200 and Canon Pixma MX870 AIO printers, right-clicking on each one, respectively, and selecting Update driver from the context menu that pops up.

This tells Device Manager to query the Windows Catalog repository with the hardware's GUID and performs a version check against the installed driver. If a newer one is available in the Windows Catalog repository, this should cause it to get downloaded and installed onto your system. Note that a reboot is sometimes required when a driver is updated.

I posted a somewhat-longish message on Reddit at reddit.com/r/buildapc/comments/6c7m22/built_a_midtier_gaming_pc_missing_drivers_quite/dhszac3/ giving some historical context to why this occurs.

Nod32 has been great a spotting other device drivers such as Intel chipset and motherboard resources that have updates available from Microsoft. I would not want to turn off it's notifications for MS updates.

Epson XP-200 is a classic printer choice that has a print-on-demand thermal inkjet technology with a piezoelectric component. Its nozzle configuration comprises 128 nozzles for black documents and 42 nozzles for cyan, yellow and magenta colors. But the minimum ink droplet volume is about three picolitres (pl) inside its component ink tanks. Epson XP-200 can produce a maximum output resolution of up to 5760 x 1440 dots per inch (dpi) with variable-sized droplet technology.

As a scanner, the compatible type is the A4 flatbed color image scanner which also has a contact image sensor (CIS) element. The document size by standard measure is not more than an A4 paper. It also has a pixel depth of 48 bits for input and 28 bits for the output measure. In terms of the scanning resolution, the rate is about 1200 x 2400 dpi. Also, when the machine works with an A4 paper with a resolution of 1200 dpi, the speed is 8.8 milliseconds per line.

However, the color scanning mode at the exact resolution has a speed of 28.5 milliseconds per line. Copying with this device is about 5 seconds for the draft mode for black documents. On the other hand, color document reproduction is about 10 seconds for the color documents. Download Epson XP-200 driver from Epson website

Then use the program that came with the printer on the driver-CD or that you can download from the Epson website. The software saves the settings to the printer. After this you can disconnect the USB cable and use the printer via Wifi.

Bumping in to make sure you saw our response. I'll be locking this thread if we won't hear back from you again in 24 hours. Should that happen, feel free to create a new one if you have more questions or have other concerns in the future.

i appreciate your posting and trying to help consumers like myself fight back against unfair corporate BS policies like Epson is trying to pull. That being said, I was able to restore my XP-440 and could not have done it without the information you provided, however, it took me several hours and multiple attempts with variations of your procedure to fix mine. FYI,- I WAS RUNNING 4 REMANUFACTURED 288XL CARTRIDGES ON AN EPSON XP-440 EXPRESSION FROM A 1.1G HP LAPTOP WITH WIN10 64 BIT HOME AND HAD BEEN PRINTING FINE FOR PAST 6 MONTHS.The Error message SAYING THE PRINTER CARTRIDGES COULD NOT BE RECOGNIZED ... WAS ON MY PRINTER AFTER I RETURNED FROM THE STORE AS I HAD STARTED THE FIRMWARE UPDATE ON THE WAY OUT THE DOOR.IN MY CASE, NOTHING I TRIED COULD CLEAR THAT ERROR MESSAGE FROM THE PRINTER. I got the printer to UPDATE MODE like your instructions said, using LEFT, DOWN, STOP, AND POWER. I DOWNLOADED THE S010H8 SOFTWARE AND RAN IT. The Printer Installer Started and I got an error message saying something like my printer and PC ARE NOT FROM THE SAME PROFILE or CONNECTION or something to that effect and it said it could disconnect my pc from the network temporarily to fix the problem which i ACCEPTED. THEN IT CAME BACK AND INSTALLLED LIKE YOUR IINSTRUCTIONS SAID ONLY AT THE END THE PRINTER SAID VERIFIED 1 AND SOME CHECKSUM STUFF AND VERIFIED 2 AND HUNG THERE FOR 30 MINUTES, SO I UNPLUGGED IT. UPON restart it said to install printer cartridges (I had pulled them) so I did and got the same old alarm - not recognized.Let me be brief ... I went through this probably 6-8 times making slight changes like readjusting cartridges, uninstalling the printer, messing with setup variables, etc and finally gave up. I went to Amazon.com and bought a set of new Epson cartridges for $39 so I could fix it now and buy me time to replace it later. I got them today and found it was only the color ones ... not the black. I put them in expecting it to fail with the remanufactured black in it but it passed. Inks all recharged and read full so I DID A QUICK Nozzle clean. That worked well and below the printout it said FIRMWARE 20.20.S010H8. Your software update had been installed every time I tried but could not clear the ink errors. Then I noticed the printer saying there is a firmware update ready for download and can only conclude that either the old software was incapable of clearing those errors or (what I believe) somewhere in my PC the updated software resides and somehow is causing this problem. I remember getting one message from the installer SAYING that there are several drivers installed and I should remove any unnecessary software. I tried but bet I didn't get THEM all.Sorry for the long posting but maybe others are struggling. As for the remanufactured cartridges that were in there ... do you think they will work now?? We'll never know cause after all this they can sit in the drawer and dry out for all I care. Or maybe I'LL MAIL THEM TO EPSON CEO for Christmas. THANKS FOR YOUR HELP.
