I had my wedding a few weeks ago at the Vineyard and I must say it was amazing. Since the day I went to just see the venue my sales rep Jen went ABOVE AND BEYOND for me. I can tell you I was not the most cooperative bride throughout the process but she made sure she got me everything I needed and more! READ MORE

When years were long with labor in the sugarfields,
I sought a wife, at last, choosing her from a photograph.
She was but fifteen, a shy child of a bride
wrapped in faded kimono, as I likewise was wrapped in wind,
a man of thirty, weathered by work in the green seas
of cane, my savings finally enough to take my wedding vows.

She was young but daily growing, my new bride.
We stood on the pier and took our vows,
and I led her to the North Shore, its mountains torn by winds,
below them the rippling green fields
of cane stretching all the way to the sea,
a landscape no one would care to photograph.

She herself died within a year of our vows
and so finally escaped the sugarfields,
a ghost in flight, ha-alele-hana, over the dread seas
that never would be captured in a photograph,
so that, ever after, only resolve would be my bride
and my mourning cloak a coat of harsh winds.

For the reception, the bride changed into a beautiful, white sari. The photo booth was a huge hit with guests, as was the Indian music blasting on the dance floor. This is a family that loves to dance, and the mix of Indian and American house music was hopping.

The shots you're referring to can be achieved using two methods. When the direction of the wind is from ahead of the bride, it's done with the use of a gadget known as a Pocket Hurricane. I believe B&H carries them. Alternatively, if the bride doesn't appreciate a face full of hot air, you can get a similar result from the back by using a battery powered Dyson - they don't lose suction.

I have the Animal hair model Dyson. When i tried using it for Pavel's technique i had problems with Squirrels getting sucked into it and once a raccoon landed on brides face. That went poorly. So don't use the animal hair vacuum for this!

The high winds flap Tracey's long veil around as the guests laugh, before laughter turns to groans and shocked noises as the veil flies off her head, presumably never to be seen again. Instead of being upset by the accident, Tracey can be heard saying, "That's fine I don't need it!" as the guests erupt into applause.

"If you're worried about minor things going wrong, have one of your bridesmaids or ushers on hand to deal with it, someone who's a quick-thinker and problem-solver, and who won't come and bother you with it all.

4. What symbolism can be found in the painting?
The swirling winds and tumultuous atmosphere symbolize the complexities of love and passion, showcasing the emotional rollercoaster experienced by both Kokoschka and Alma.

His soul searing desire for the stunning Rose had once blinded Pierce to the treacherous machinations of his enemies. Now banished from his beloved England, he lives the life of a pirate - seeking vengeance on those who betrayed him... including the beautiful temptress whom he once held dear. On a storm-tossed sea they are united once more - he, no longer a noble, but the notorious brigand called Dragonslayer. And she, one his bride, is now his helpless prisoner - forced to submit to his fury, his will...and the blistering, sensuous need that chains her captive heart.

A wind element wedding can be thrilling to organize. Wind can be breezy or heavy, with fresh country air or slight humidity. This element is one of the most challenging to plan the wedding around since it is only felt and not seen. However, with some creativity, you can include decor, floral arrangements, wedding invitations, and more to fit right with this beautiful theme.

It goes without saying that your wedding should be an outdoor event. Ideally, you should search for wedding venues with plenty of natural light and breeze. The seasons to host such a wedding would be spring, summer, and autumn. Winter weddings, while windy, may end up being too cold, depending on where you hold the celebrations.

While you may want the wind element, you should aim for a natural breeze that ruffles your hair playfully, breathes love into your wedding dress, and allows your wedding decor items to flutter gently. Avoid places with too much wind that can topple your reception venue with a heavy gust. You must also remember that wind also carries with it plenty of dust. So if you have a beachside venue, you must account for sand blowing in the wind.

Can you imagine a gorgeous wedding dress that gently sways with the breeze making you look like a princess in a castle? We can! You can definitely have the wedding dress of your dreams and one that fits the windy element theme.

You could also choose ultimate glamor with a vintage twist. An A-line gown with a sweetheart neckline, silhouetted bodice, handwoven lace designs, and exquisite piping with half sleeves can exude sensuality and beauty and incorporate the windy theme. To add volume, you can opt for tulle or fabrics like chiffon that blow in the wind, giving you an ethereal look for your nuptials.

Accessories should complement your wedding look and fit with the theme. Bracelets with charms at your wrists that tinkle in the breeze, light dangling earrings that move with the wind, and an open hairstyle to let your hair do its own graceful dance will go well with the theme.

The wedding decor should look exquisite and match your wedding venue. When planning the wedding budget, apart from the venue, consider decor that fits well with the theme. Since your wedding theme is the wind element, spending money on having a unique water feature made for the reception would not help. Instead, you should start focusing on all your favorite aspects of the wind.

For some couples, choosing the wind element is because the proposal happened high up in the sky, in a hot air balloon. For such couples, ensuring hot air balloons are part of the decor or embossed on the wedding invitations is a great way to remember their special day. While your reasons for choosing the theme may be varied, you should ensure the wedding decorations speak for themselves.

Some excellent ideas for incorporating windy elements in your decor (without looking too campy) are gentle tinkling wind chimes at catchment areas, faux birds in ivory cages or wrought iron cages, dreamcatchers adorned with feathers, adding birds in flight as part of the wedding invitations, draped strings of pennants throughout the reception venue, vintage wedding decor that is light, airy, and easy to style.

You can include the wind theme even in the wedding food. Consider serving light and airy desserts like chocolate mousse or lemon meringues to work with your theme instead of dense foods like almond cakes and cookies.

For entertainment, you could consider hiring an acapella band (no musical instruments at all!) or hiring a band that only plays wind instruments like flutes, saxophones, trumpets, clarinets, or trombones.

You're such an amazing writer, i enjoyed reading about this. I stumbled on this while making research about the "bride of the wind".

I love how you told this story with humor, and i must admit i would be crushing on beloved Alma for the rest of this week. I don't mind purchasing a bottle of her magic either.

In some cultures, rain on your wedding day is a sign of good luck. Not only did Charlie and Sara have rain, their day was extra lucky because they also had strong winds gushing through their Ontario woodland wedding venue. This made for some very romantic, wind-swept photos, lots of laughter and great stories to share.
