Regarding help for the NUSSD Programme Implementation.

Hi,

It is our pleasure to inform you that Tata Institute of Social Sciences (TISS) in partnership with the Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports (Government of India) and officer of the Adviser to the Prime Minister on Skill Development are working on National University Students Skill Development Programme (NUSSD) by introducing ‘Skill Training’ so that the graduating youths acquire job related skills through immersive projects.The aims of NUSSD are as follows:

Ø  Awaken agency of the Youth to be responsible citizens.

Ø  Position the Youths as Agents of Social and Economic Transformation.

Ø  Gain sustainable and Relevant Employable Skills along with their degree to find work after graduation. 

Tata Institute of Social Sciences (TISS) has completed the assessment study in Hemchandracharya North Gujrat University in the year 2012. Shri and Smt. P.K. Kotawala College of Arts, Patan, Shri V.R. Patel College of Commerce, Mehsana, Arts College, Shamlaji have been selected for the pilot of this programme. 


Now, we have plan to start generic courses such as English Communication and Soft Skills, Digital Literacy, Financial Literacy, and Community Development from August 1st 2013 in the selected colleges and require (volunteer) trainees to deliver those courses. 

This programme also involve college students’ engagement over three years in a multi stakeholder collaborative model involving Non Government Organisation (NGOs), Civil Society Organisations, Government Line Department, Universities and Corporates whereby students could get exposure of field work, trainings and placement etc. 

So, it is my sincere request to you that, please do send me contact details of individuals, Government Organisation (NGOs), Civil Society Organisations, Clubs, Government Line Departments  those who can contribute in the success of programme by volunteering as a trainee in order to teach above mentioned courses and hosting students for fieldwork/training etc. If anyone of you belong to Gujarat especially Patan, Mehsana and Sabar Kantha districts  or placed in Gujarat are interested to help then they are most welcome.
