This isn't a horrible book--lovely descriptions of the Italian
countryside, well-written dialogue--but so far I'm wondering when
anything significant will happen! Well, there WAS a murder, and a
kiss...but these incidents are given little time or description.
I like it that the elderly Mr. Emerson is so outspoken, as well as an
atheist. I hope he'll provide an antidote to the insufferable
Charlotte. Lucy has a lot of growing up to do, and despite Charlotte
hustling her and Lucy off to Rome, I suspect the Emersons aren't done
with Lucy!
