Hooray! I thought this one started out slow, and was none to happy
with it, but it ended up being a very pleasant surprise!
As soon as I got into Part 2, it seemed that things started to pick
up. I loved the scene at the pool with Freddy, George, and Mr. Beebe.
The further I got, the more I enjoyed it. The various coincidences,
Charlotte's scheming (although she may have redeemed herself), Lucy's
efforts to become her own person, the wise elder Emerson--very, very
enjoyable!
I think I understand the title now, too. Lucy could have settled for a
lesser room, but Mr. Emerson convinced her to switch rooms. In her own
life, she could have settled for an unhappy life with Cecil, but Mr.
Emerson convinced her that her and his son could have a happy life
together, and could have "a room with a view."
