Man, I hope this gets better. I can't say that I'm engaged yet. I
don't enjoy the language (thees and thous), and I'm not intrigued by
the story. :( I can't say that I'm all that interested by India. I
still need to go back and read Midnight's Children. Maybe I'd enjoy
that more than this one. So far, at least...I'm still hoping it will
get better!

I wanted to mention that Amazon offers a cool app for Kindle. I don't
know if anyone has a Kindle yet (the price is coming down...going to
get one soon, I think!), but there is a Kindle for PC app. You can
install it to your computer (there is also one for Macs) and there are
lots of free downloads. Many of the books on our list are available
from various sites (just search for "free Kindle books" on Amazon--
they list several sites, including Project Gutenberg) for free. If
it's out of copyright, chances are good it's available for free
online, and many of our books are old enough that they're out of
copyright.

I paid a little over $3 for a Stephen King novella (about the Kindle,
haha), and I've gotten a couple of free things, including an essay
about Thomas Jefferson, although I haven't read that yet.

Anyway, it's a nifty little app, and although it will never replace
actual books for me, it's handy for some things.

Oh, and is anyone still reading any of the books? I'm plugging away
and trying to get caught up!
