TIPCA Easter Picnic and Easter Egg Hunt

The TIPCA Easter Picnic and Easter Egg Hunt was held on Easter Sunday April 20, 2014 at Kitty Hollow Park in Missouri City.   We were blessed with excellent weather.  The Pavilion we had reserved was all the way near the dog park so we did not have people all around us.  Approximately 80 adults and children showed up for the event.  We had the Easter Egg Hunt before lunch.  You should have seen the excitement on the faces of the younger children as they ran around finding and collecting the eggs.  Lunch was pot luck with lots of delicious dishes.  After lunch we had games like lemon and spoon race, three legged race, tug of war, cricket, and Bingo.  Everyone had a great time.  A big thank you to Sharon Dacambra and Sheryl Machado and all volunteers for all the efforts put in to make the event so enjoyable.

Future Activities

Fr. KK will be Retiring at the End of June

Many of you may have heard that Fr. KK will be retiring at the end of June.

Some of the newer members may not know how instrumental Fr. KK has been for TIPCA to grow and prosper.

About 6 or 7 years ago we were looking for a place to have our monthly Mass and social.  At that time we had been meeting at Holy Family Church in Missouri City but the facilities we had to work with had become less than adequate for our growing numbers

When we approached Fr. KK to use his church and hall for our Mass and social he was very welcoming.  He not only allowed us to use the facilities at St. Thomas Aquinas Church at a very reduced cost but he also committed to say the Mass for us and be our Spiritual Director.  Fr. KK has helped us to grow spiritually in our faith through his sermons and advice.  Because of Fr. KK we feel St. Thomas Aquinas Church is our home.  The church treats us as one of their parish ministries and always includes us in the parish activities.  Even the office of Archdiocese of Galveston Houston has recognized TIPCA as a strong Indian catholic community due to Fr. KK's efforts.  For all of these reasons we are very grateful to Fr. KK.  We ask the Lord to continue to bless him and we wish him a very happy and healthy retirement.

Next TIPCA Mass and Social is on June 8

The next TIPCA Mass will be held on June 8 at St. Thomas Aquinas Church, 12627 W. Bellfort Avenue, Sugar Land, TX 77478.  Rosary will start at 4:00 PM in the chapel.  Mass will follow at 4:30 PM in the main sanctuary.  Following the Mass we will have our social and dinner in the Aldridge Hall.

We are still in need of a sponsor for this Mass.  If you would like to be a sponsor please contact Sharon and Nigel Dacambra (daca...@sbcglobal.net) or Stella Naik
(stell...@hotmail.com).

This will be Fr. KK's last TIPCA Mass before he retires so please try and make it to the Mass.  I know he would like to see all of you.

We will take up a collection at the social for a retirement gift for Fr. KK.

During the social we also plan to recognize and felicitate all of our young adults who are graduating from high school or university this year.  Parents, please provide the names and degree of your graduates to Sharon Dacambra (daca...@sbcglobal.net) by June 1.

FR. KK's last Mass at St. Thomas Aquinas Church on June 28

Fr. KK will be saying his last Mass for the parish on June 28.  The Mass will be followed by a reception hosted by the parishioners and other groups affiliated with the parish including TIPCA. There will be dinner (sponsored by different ethnic groups of the parish including TIPCA) and variety entertainment.  If you can, please plan to attend this function and thank Fr. for all he has done for us.

Archdiocesan Request for Volunteers

The Archdiocese has asked if we can provide volunteers to serve as Hospitality Ministers or Eucharistic Ministers for 2 upcoming events at the Co-Cathedral.  This is an opportunity to witness first hand 2 of our very ancient Catholic ceremonies that have been performed for almost 2,000 years.  These ceremonies are only done infrequently on the diocesan level.

1. Saturday, May 17:   Transitional Diaconate Ordination at the Co-Cathedral.  Ministers would need to arrive no later than 8.30 AM and would be done with their responsibilities around 12:30 PM.
We had 4 of our young adult volunteers for this event.  Thank you Karen Miranda, Natasha Naik, Alisha Naik and Sheryl Machado for you time especially the early hours of a Saturday morning!

2.
Saturday, June 7:  Presbyteral Ordination at the Co-Cathedral.  This is the ceremony to ordain a priest.  Ministers would need to arrive no later than 8.30 AM and would be done with their responsibilities around 12:30 PM.  If anyone wishes to volunteer for this event please call Stella

Sponsors needed for Future TIPCA Masses
