Dear TIPCA members:
We are already into the Thanksgiving week! and the festive season is rolling in
rapidly! We hope you all have a wonderful time with family and friends
over Thanksgiving and Christmas. TIPCA is thankful to God for a wonderful
association that caters to fun and faith based activities for our community all
through the year. A big thank you to all the committee members and
volunteers for their dedication and participation in making every single event
successful. Here are some updates before we close the year 2014 and do
note/read the new changes that are about to take place in the near future.
RECENT ACTIVITIES:
The 19th Annual Archdiocesan Asian Mass was held at Our Lady of Lavang Church
on November 9. The Mass was celebrated by Bishop George Sheltz. Six
Asian countries participated in the festivities: China, India, Indonesia,
Korea, Philippines and Viet Nam. Over one thousand Asian Catholics filled
the church. It was wonderful to see everyone dressed up in their very
colorful native dresses. We had a good turnout from the ICH and TIPCA
communities with many volunteers helping with the arrangements. Luiza
Fernandez , Vera Barretto, Venessa Dsouza, Angelo Dsouza, Fenella and Eathen
Pradhan took part in the procession representing the Indian Community from
TIPCA. Dinesh Pradhan, Nigel Dacambra, Shekar Naik, Romeo Dsouza, Cedric
Soares and Rodney Barretto served as Ushers, Alisha Naik and Daniela Noronha
were Altar servers, Natasha Naik read the Prayers of the Faithful in Hindi, Mel
D'Mello sang in the choir, Daisy Fernandes, Phyllis Mitchelo and Michael Lobo
were Eucharistic Ministers at this Liturgy. After the Mass we got to
sample finger foods from each country. Corine Noronha, Venessa Dsouza, Dinesh
Pradhan and Sharon Dacambra helped with serving the food. This
was followed by an entertainment program. India presented a Bollywood dance
performed by Naomi, Christina, Genevie Alphonso and Amanda Bush. Many
thanks to all the volunteers and participants in making this event a grand

NEXT TIPCA MASS IS ON DECEMBER 14 AT 4:30 PM
The next TIPCA Mass will be on December 14 at 4:30 PM at St. Thomas
Aquinas Church, 12627 W. Bellfort Avenue, Sugar Land, TX 77478. Fr. Santy
will be celebrating the Mass for us. We will be celebrating the feasts of
Our Lady of Guadalupe and St. Francis Xavier. Prior to the Mass we will
say the rosary in the chapel starting at 4:00 PM. Please be on time.
The Mass and Social are being sponsored by the Soares family.
We are very grateful to the Soares family for all the support they have given
to TIPCA for the last 15-20 years. Mr. Lig Soares was very active in the
organization for many years. He used to faithfully phone all the
members to remind them about the TIPCA Mass and other activities. Cedric
Soares was President for a couple of years in the early 2000's and Josephine
coordinated the choir few years ago. Cynthia Soares was the Entertainment
Secretary and Webmaster for a couple of years and presently she is in charge of
the Tipca Choir which is amazing. Their late sister, Maria Mussenden, who
passed away from cancer in 2007 was also very active in organizing TIPCA's
social activities. We take this opportunity to thank all the members of
the Soares family for all that they have done for TIPCA. The December
mass is being offered for the repose of the soul of Maria Mussenden
It is very important that you come to the December Mass and Social.
During the Social we will have the Children's Christmas Party and
Elections for the 2015 Management Committee.
CHILDREN'S CHRISTMAS PARTY WILL BE HELD DURING THE SOCIAL ON DECEMBER 14
Because of the unavailability of the Telfair club house we had to move the time
and place of the Children's Christmas Party. The party will now be held
on December 14, during the social after Mass. We need a good count
of the children below 12 who will be attending the party. If you will be
coming with a child who is less than 12 years old please contact Sharon
Dacambra atdaca...@sbcglobal.net or Sheryl Machado at shery...@yahoo.com to sign up for this event by December
1. We would hate for your child to miss out on a gift from Santa!
TIPCA ELECTIONS WILL BE HELD DURING THE SOCIAL ON DECEMBER 14
The elections for the 2015 Management Committee will be held during the social
after the Mass on December 14. Please consider volunteering for one
of the positions.
The positions open for election are:
Vice President:

Treasurer:
Entertainment Coordinator
Mass Coordinator:
Choir Coordinator:
Food and Beverage Coordinator:
Web Master:
Youth Activities Coordinator:
Childrens Activities Coordinator:
We have already received nominations for some of the above positions, however,
we are still looking for new people to fill some of the vacant positions.
The requirement to stand for any of the positions is that you must be a
member in good standing for at least one year.
The President's position is not up for election by the membership. Per
our by laws typically the previous year's Vice President will move up to the
President's position. This is to ensure continuity and to make sure that
the new President has a good understanding of the duties and responsibilities
of leading the association. If the Vice president declines the
President's position either the existing President continues for another term
or the outgoing Management Committee will elect one of the present or past
committee members to be the President. The person selected has to have
been in a committee position for at least one year.

CHRISTMAS BALL ON SATURDAY, DECEMBER 20 AT THE VILLAGE BALLROOM,
SUGAR LAND
Our annual Christmas Ball will be held on Saturday, December 20 at
the Village Ballroom, 11920 Hwy 6, Sugar Land TX. The evemt will start at 7.30
PM. We are planning a lot of fun activities for the evening. An E-vite to this
event has already been issued. Please respond to the E-vite before the deadline of December
6 and let us know whether you will be attending or not. After
the deadline we will open the floor to non-members. All who attend must
have purchased a ticket in advance. No tickets will be sold at the door.
Tickets will be sold on a first come basis. Since we can only
accommodate a limited number please get your tickets as soon as they go on sale
next week. Ticket prices are $30 for members and $45 for non-members.
Please note there will not be any discounted price for kids. Same price
as adults will apply. You can purchase your tickets from one of the
committee members, make checks payable to TIPCA and mail it to our Treasurer

TIPCA DUES INCREASE EFFECTIVE JULY 1, 2015
The present annual TIPCA membership dues are $40 for a Family Membership and
$20 for a Single Adult. Adult children who live at home and have full
time jobs also have to pay the Single Membership dues of $20 per year.
This rate has been in effect for the past 7 years.
As you all know the cost of everything has been going up. In 2014 TIPCA's
expenses exceeded the membership dues we collected by about $1,000. Some
of this shortfall was due to the fact that we didn't have sponsors for all the
TIPCA Masses so TIPCA had to spend for the food and other expenses for the
socials. We also had some unique expenses related to Fr. K.K.'s
retirement.
Your Management Committee discussed this issue at their meeting on November 21.
They decided that for the months where we did not have a Mass sponsor
TIPCA would continue to provide the meals at no cost to the members, however
non-members/guests will continue to pay $5.00 per person. In order to
ensure that TIPCA continues on a sound financial footing while continuing the
present level of activities your Management committee has voted to increase the
annual membership fees. Annual Membership Fees will be increased to $50 for
Family Membership and $25 for Single members. The new rates will take
effect from July 1, 2015.
Members who pay their 2015 dues before July 1, 2015 will be charged
the old rates of $40 for Family membership and $20 for Single membership.
So please pay your 2015 dues before July 1so you can avail of the
old membership rate.
TIPCA WEBMASTER UPDATES:
We have just created a new functional website for our correspondence at www.tipca.com.
Each member will need to join this website to access features for the Tipca
group.
To join, the website you will need to click the “Join Group” button on the top
right of the page and fill in the required information.
Once you have done this, we will approve your access to the website and you
should receive an email confirming this.
The new tipca.com website will
be used for:
1. Communicating the newsletter to our members. (We will use both the website
and the google group until all members have signed in)
2. Event calendars
3. Event pictures
4. Paypal Payments for membership and events.
