Navigraph Charts Update

Ihave been using Navigraph charts for a long time now and never had a problem. In the last few days I have had repeated problems where the charts have been very slow to load and on occasions say there is no internet connection but I know there is as mine is very good. Also all other sites are just fine.

The problems range from the main maps taking a very long time to fully load and the individual airport charts also taking long periods or just getting a black screen.

Well the charts are fine now. I did find I had two versions of Navigraph installed and so perhaps an update had not taken off the old one?

The Simlink worked ok but did disconnect twice on a 2 hour flight. The internet was fine my end and so not sure why that was. It did reconnect when asked.

I have just had to completely reinstall my P3D because of CTDs caused by an unknown file I must have installed at some time. I also did another clean install of Navigraph Sim Connect and again everything is working well.

I have been away for about 16 months . Just coming back so all mynroutes Sid stars are out of date . I wanted a quick flight lax to sfo but when I went to print the airport charts there was nothing to say print . It would let me do the Sid kind of . It would only print 1/3 of the chart and all of the menu on the left

Hi I am a new user to Navigraph charts and I tried to print from Charts Cloud but found the same problem.

My way to print the chart required is to use the sniping tool which is with most versions of windows, save and then print.

I think there is a misunderstanding here. I am referring to the desktop app, not a desktop computer. That is, you will never see the print button on Charts Cloud (charts.navigraph.com). You will only find it in the desktop app, downloadable from the Your Account > Downloads > Charts page on our main website.

Thanks for that input however my main monitor is being used solely for FSimulator. The LH second monitor is used for LNM/vPilot/and TeamSpeak which is useful for checking who else is online within our group. My laptop is slightly smaller than the second monitor and is therefore more suited to be used on the RH side with Chart clouds. I think that is the best set up for me. Now if Navigraph could set up a print feature within chart clouds that would make everyone happy.

Perhaps one item I have found slightly odd within Navigraph charts. Unless I have it completely wrong some airport charts cannot be used with moving map. IE EGLL and EGKK are two large airports which I use regularly but find that option to follow the aircraft on the taxiway is not available.

This could be expected and the reason why has been discussed in other topics. The reason is often that the chart contains parts that are not to scale, and thus they cannot be georeferenced. Looking at EGKK 20-9A for example, the top left corner contains a cutout.

I'am currently using Avitab to view Navigraph charts in-game but one of the things that annoys me about it is the re-sizing (or lack therof) of the Avitab window. I would like to be able to view Navigraph charts in a much bigger or re-sizable window than Avitab, similar to the Navigraph charts app for MSFS2020.

Does anyone know if something similar exists for XP11? Something that gives you a large, re-sizable view of Navigraph charts or your own PDFs in-game for XP11?

You could always use Navigraph charts on a supported tablet/iPad... you even have the flight path and moving map that you can't get on Avitab. No help with .PDFs, although you could stash those in your tablet as well making it a sim- EFB.

I hate to be that guy, but I also think there's something to be said for hitting file print and having the charts in your hot little hands, heck even get a clipboard and then attach said clipboard to your knee.

I use Simbrief to build my routes (for use in the CRJ FMS) and then a sight like AirNav to get my elevation data and such (which I still can't seem to find in SimBrief) and I also pay for Navigraph Charts so I often will use that as my moving map.

Looking at it now. It seems to require running both a server and a client and their trial is annoyingly trying to get to a time server that it can't reach (researching now) so I can't get into it to try it.

I do the exact same thing and run Navigraph charts on my other PC. Sometimes I find getting the Star/Approach can be a little confusing so I have LittleNavMap as a backup. I would prefer if when you viewed the Stars/approaches you could view one at a time so the display was a little less cluttered.

I find this confusing sometimes as well. Sometimes I have issues, and other times I don't. I'm sure it has something to do with my workflow or my lack of experience with real-world navigation. I typically fly the FBW A320.

When I import the route into Navigraph charts, it does include the SID and the STAR, but the approach isn't defined. This is where I can run into issues when the STAR doesn't connect to the approach This wasn't a big deal in P3D for me with the NGX, because I could easily select the next waypoint or delete the extraneous waypoints. Not sue if it is Simbrief, the aircraft, or user error, but I find this incredibly frustrating, and I just gave up trying to clean this up in the MCDU on my last flight.

If anyone know of a video that shows you how to delete waypoints contained in a STAR or Approach, let me know. All of the ones I have found seem to gloss over the specific steps for modify lightplanes imported from Simbrief when things don't import cleanly.

The navigation data and the charts must only be used for flight simulation. It must not be used for any real world-flight navigation, or any other real-world application. You cannot use the datasets for any type of research, home projects, or to power any other type of system och application for any other purpose than flight simulation.

Another restriction which is not explicitly mentioned in the Terms of Service, but which is one of the criteria in the review process, is that implementations of the Charts API cannot be physical EFBs with software which can run outside of the context of a flight simulator. Detachable virtual gauges and FMC implementations running in networked mode together with an active flight simulator are examples of implementations which are deemed acceptable.

Navigraph Charts for iPad and Android has several safeguards in place which prevents it from being used in a real cockpit. To avoid having to check for the same safeguards, or risk assuming any responsibility, the review process becomes simpler if the Chart API simply cannot be used in any other place than inside the simulator as a virtual EFB or, in exceptional cases, as a auxiliary screen which cannot function outside the local network on which a simulator software is running.

I'll be honest. In other aircraft (P3D and Xplane) where I had this feature it was "cool" but I found it to be at best minimally usable mainly due to size and the face that most of the time you have to move your "head" around to see them. I find that running Navigraph on my laptop next to me is a more realistic and better all around experience. I get charts that are readable and I can quickly and easily move from one chart to another without losing awareness of what is going on in the sim. Could just be me though. Now, what I am going to do is get an IPad to run them on in the near future.

Worldwide VFR Charts

Navigraph Charts features a worldwide interactive map with visual reporting points, entry and exit routes, traffic patterns, transition routes, and flyways. As selectable data layers, Navigraph Charts also display coastlines, terrain, waterbodies, roads, railroads, powerlines, windmills, churches, landmarks, obstacles, highpoints and waterways. Airspaces, populated areas, avoid-overflying zones and Minimum Off Route Altitudes (MORA) are also marked.

Drag and Drop Route Construction

The VFR Chart and IFR Enroute Chart are interactive; the route can be adjusted by simply dragging it, and it will snap to known waypoints. Custom waypoints can also be added to the route and each route segment displays distance and heading.

The drag-and-drop route construction works for both VFR and IFR flight plans. Just like before, Navigraph Charts offers an extensive set of import and export options, including SimBrief. The route strings can also be copied and pasted. Last but not least, Navigraph Charts has an autoroute function which handles North Atlantic Tracks and the expanding Free Route Airspace.

Seamless Zoom

It is now possible to zoom from space down to airport level and see terminal buildings, gates, stop lines, and even windsock locations. A pixel at the highest zoom level is 1.5 metres at the equator. Navigraph Charts can be viewed on a globe projection, which helps visualise Great Circle distances and polar routes.

Autopinning of Procedure Charts

When planning a flight, Navigraph Charts 8 can automatically place the relevant airport diagrams and procedure charts on a pinboard which can be stored with the flight or saved separately.
