Alongside this are a number of optional accolades to complete including put on the volcanologist thermal suit, find a location for the seismometer, collect a sample from the hot spring lake and smash 5 steam vents to release geothermal energy.

Steam vents are dotted throughout the volcano area, and thanks to the steam, you should see them from the distance. If you are struggling, then just north of the hot spring lake and suit objectives is a ridge. Drive up here and look around, and you should see the pockets of steam.

Upon starting Forza Horizon 5, you are prompted to select your initial preferences and nickname. You then get the unfailable "campaign" intro race consisting of driving a Ford Bronco in the Dry winter season, a Chevrolet Corvette Stingray in the Hot spring season (fearlessly plow through that dust storm), a vintage Porsche 911 rally car in the Wet summer, and a Mercedes-AMG One in what is presumably Stormy autumn, minus the storm. During this event, the game introduces you to the basic controls as you need them. Arriving at the festival, you unlock:

Customize your character as you please and enjoy the first of many unskippable cutscenes before selecting your first car and license plate. Any car is fine; you receive the others soon enough. Set a route to the showcase "On a Wing and a Prayer" and follow the route line there. Hoon your Hoonigan through the route behind some questionable flying from your Horizon cargo plane. Winning is not necessary, but as long as you gun the last straight, you come in first. Crossing the finish line earns you

Follow the route given to the Festival site. Along the way, you are introduced to the Car Mastery tutorial. While this walkthrough does not make much use of this feature, it be used on certain cars for some quick cash or wheelspins so it's always worth checking. There's no other store to spend your skill points so make use of what you earn. Upon arrival, you are prompted to choose between 2 Horizon Stories to start working on. Either is fine, but I chose the south option, "Vocho." Make your way to the destination, a modded VW Beetle barn find, and have fun hauling it back to the garage.

You now have the first races surrounding the Horizon Festival available to you. Your current cars are not powerful enough to 3 star the PR stunts, so select whichever race event you prefer and head there. Complete the race for a wheelspin and

At this point, I received the "Manufacturer Affinity" achievement on the Start menu by nature of having a Car Pack add-on installed. If you do not have any Car Packs installed, you can navigate to the Cars tab of your Start menu, select "Buy New & Used Cars," freely fast travel to the Festival Site, and buy a 1958 Austin-Healey Sprite MK1 for 20K credits. Along with a new car, you receive both

Next, complete the remaining races, smash some rewards boards, and attempt any PR Stunts needed, until you have enough accolade points to unlock a new Horizon Adventure. Then follow the route to meet Rami at the Casa Bella house in Muleg. Arriving grants you the first of seven houses, access to the Horizon Adventure menu, and

We now can choose the direction of the game's Story mode. Any option is fine but to improve our progress as quickly as possible, I recommend the green Horizon Baja outpost and opening an event in each category first. If you go in another direction, feel free to jump around this section as necessary. Making your choice unlocks

Now you can check out the Accolade system and Horizon Adventure menus from the Start menu. You likely unlocked a few cars and other items from the accolades, so collect and enjoy them. Proceed to the expedition destination. Hoon your way up the active volcano however you like, just make sure to hit the checkpoints. Atop the volcano, drive around looking for stars on your mini-map. Make sure to drive through the smaller body of water, hit 5 gray geysers, and activate the seismometer and volcano suit. Once done, exit at the middle of the north boundary. Hop in what looks to be the most terrifying cage with wheels ever built, zip down the mountain, and drop into a race that needs winning. Brush off any lava and collect

Side note: You now have access to the Festival Playlist. While you may not have a car powerful enough to complete everything, you want to check it now for any Treasure Hunt available in the current week. One week into the release, it appears that these hunts only come once every two weeks, and we need 5 total for an achievement. Each week changes Thursdays around 2 AM GMT and repeats anew every Summer. You also need to complete at least one activity in each season; the easiest is usually the photo challenge.

Don't forget to spin the wheelspins and grab your just Accolade Rewards, including a nice offroader. You likely picked up a barn find rumor during the previous story. Check out the map for the vicinity to search. Either check out the map on KudosPrime for the location or hunt for it yourself. After you find it, select the option to send a gift and send your Austin-Healey (or another car of your choosing) to the great beyond, ascending your gamerscore another 10 points

Continue racing and earning any other Accolades available to you (unlocking Forza Link chat and Horizon Tour events along the way), until you earn the next chapter of Horizon Adventure. Once prompted, select the 3rd option under Horizon Baja, V10. Completing all episodes of this Horizon Story with 3 stars rewards us with the Koenigsegg Jesko, making most PR Stunts simple walks in the park. Follow the next tips, numbered by chapter. You have to choose between Chapters 4 and 5 when you get to them, but can return to the other later. I recommend returning to it at the end.

You can now start to ace all your PR Stunts. I recommend using the Jesko on Speed Traps, Speed Zones, and Danger Signs. To that end, I created a tune that you should find helpful: share code 244 499 811. It maintains a high enough speed necessary to complete all speed traps while keeping the balance and turn-in in check for speed zones and racing. Parts should cost you 25,300 CR.

Next, I recommend purchasing, either new (500,000 CR) or from the auction house, the 1986 Hoonigan Ford RS200 Evolution for the Trailblazer, Drift Zones, and any remaining offroad PR Stunts for which the Jesko is ill-suited. Again, I made my tune set up available under share code 108 394 161. Parts should cost you another 55,200 CR. If you do not have enough money, just wait until the next achievement comes.

While both cars and their tunes worked very well for me, I am by no means the best tuner in the game. Please feel free to try other tunes out there (or even other cars) that may fit your driving style better.

Returning back to the Story Mode, our goal remains to unlock more Horizon Adventure chapters. Should you need more accolades, start completing new races or other unfulfilled accolades listed in the Accolade section. Open up Horizon Adventure and unlock the red Horizon Rush Canyon Expedition. Head there, hit the checkpoints again, and then enjoy probably the funniest event in the entire Horizon series so far. Testing the aerodynamics of a parade float earns you

We now have unlocked all the ramps necessary to gather all the Bonus Boards and all PR Stunts. I recommend going through the map and finding all the Fast Travel boards now. There is no achievement for just the Fast Travel boards but doing so now saves you so much time. Use the map linked above to find the boards and check them off as they fall.

That done (hi, welcome back!), we need to purchase the house to unlock Fast Travel. To unlock the house, first, go to Horizon Adventure and unlock the purple Horizon Street Scene. Follow the checkpoints into the tight and twisty town of Guanajuato before heading back out of town to your final outpost.

With the Buenas Vistas house unlocked over on the west edge of the map, you need to gather 2 million credits. You likely don't have this sum yet, but there are plenty of money-making endeavors, including racing, acing the PR stunts below, wheelspins, and selling any unwanted/unnecessary cars acquired through wheelspins or barn find gifts. You quickly learn that money flows like we're in the Weimar Republic. Continue through the walkthrough or focus solely on the cash; either way, once you get the 2 mils, purchase the house, and enjoy the bliss of Fast Travel.

Use your fast travel to start jumping around the map and knocking out the Danger Signs, followed by the Speed Traps, Speed Zones, Trailblazers, and finally the Drift Zones. I recommend filtering the map so you can stay focused on one stunt type at a time.

While we are here and those drift skills are maxed, let's jump on some of the Series 10 Title Update (TU) achievements. Head over to the "Drift Club Mexico" Horizon Story which should have unlocked when you built the Red Horizon Rush festival site (though I admit I'm adding this section soon after the TU posted and months after finishing the base game, so I'm not entirely certain that this checkpoint is accurate. DM me if it's not.) You have 6 long drift zones to slide through and despite their length, they are quite easy to 3-star. Use your drift settings and make sure to hit the point totals below. You don't have to get to the finish line before the timer hits 0 so the timing should not be tight, but do not cross the line unless you have the total.
