When I delete a file and send it to the trash - it doesn't appear in the trash. There is never anything in the trash but if I delete a file it goes somewhere and it disappears. Trash will also not let me empty the trash. I also am trying to delete Microsoft Silverlight and am having no success so I think it is in the trash. I have run CleanMyMac with no success. Help
You MAY have answered your own question - Clean My Mac may be the culprit. Strongly advide do not use third party cleanup or antivirus software on a Mac - it is likely to cause rather than resolve problems!
No I do not delete photo or mail in the general trash. This all started before installing Clean My Mac and prior to installing Maverick. During mountain lion. Just assumed i had something switched on that I shouldn't have. I have now changed as many settings as I can find to change and no trash. I have another user on my mac which I do not use and the trash works on that user. Thats how I am pretty sure trash is in there somewhere.
Never use CleanMyMac or anything like it in an attempt to address inexplicable problems. I understand the problem occurred prior to using it, but the effects of having used it will make additional troubleshooting difficult at best. Using ill-conceived programs such as CleanMyMac to remove essential files or components of them it arbitrarily determines are not required will result in system corruption. For that reason, I recommend erasing your Mac completely, and restoring it from a backup created prior to the onset of the problem.
So as we all know, Logic Scans for audio plugins sometimes, but shouldn't every time you open it. Well mine was scanning every single time that I opened it. ANNOYING huh? Well I noticed it only happened when I scanned and cleaned my computer using CleanMyMac 2. After about 10 minutes of poking arounf with CleanMyMac, I was able to stop the "every time I open Logic, it scans for Plug-Ins" issue.
To fix it, open CleanMyMac 2. Next, go ahead and start a scan. Once it is finished, click on the "System Cleanup" tab on the left hand side. After that, click on the "Detailed Results" button on the right hand side. From there it should be on the "User Cache Files" tab. If not, select that now. Lastly, uncheck the folder "AudioUnitCache." You'll then get a pop-up that the specific folder will be put on an ignore list. Go ahead and confirm. You are now good to go, and don't have to worry about having the Plug-In manager showing up on every boot.
OS X is quite capable of doing its own housekeeping tasks when needed... and as the OP found out.. Using certain apps that interfere with the natural processes of OS X can and do cause all kinds of weird issues...
Yup. I agree 50/50. I use CleanMyMac mostly for auto-removing unneccesary language files and for 3x passive deleting files. It has saved me over 130.05 GB of space by clearing languages I don't use. I can have the program not clear caches too.
There was a time when the CleanMyMac application deleted one of the Apple supplied AU related files, not sure if it was one of the Apple (not Logic) plugins or an AU support file... anyway, Logic would pop up a warning and wouldn't start of if it did start it would repeatedly ask for the missing file.

I'm typically running the latest versions of my software, including Evernote for Mac. I think it was yesterday I updated to 10.65.2. What I've discovered is that I now can't duplicate Notes. I also can't delete Notes (even by dragging them to the left column to the Trash category. In both cases, I get a small read warning "Failed to delete note."
I went to Evernote Web. There I *can* delete Notes (to the Trash). But I can't duplicate a Note. I searched and found the official way to do it in Evernote Web at -us/articles/360052533433-Make-a-copy-of-a-note. But that says to go to the 3 dots and to Duplicate the Note or Copy to to duplicate the Note to a different Notebook.
Hi. If the update corrupted something in your system, the best thing would be to sign out / remove your database / uninstall using Appcleaner or similar / power off and back on / re-download from Evernote.com and reinstall / sign back in. Takes about 30 minutes for the reinstall and a day or so while your system rebuilds the local structure.
I think you have a corrupted local database, and should follow the advise posted by @gazumped . It is a well know fact that corruption of the local data can happen, and that removing the entire install and reinstalling will usually solve the issue. Make sure to use AppCleaner - the standard Mac uninstall will NOT erase the corrupted local database.
If it would be distributed through the AppStore it couldn't work. AppStore apps are restricted in their execution - they couldn't reach out and grab all information necessary to find all program parts, because the sandbox wouldn't allow them to go everywhere.
