Sims4 keeps crashing after i played for 1 minute. The game freezes for 1-2 seconds and then crashes. I have repaired the game, done app recovery -> clear cache, reinstalled sims but it still doesn't work. It started yesterday suddenly after playing for a few hours (with one crash), and now i can't play at all because it crashes almost right away. I have never had this problem before transferring to the EA app, but since then it has crashed a few times, just not this severely as it does now.

@AliceBjorkenstam Did you add any content back in other than your saves? If so, please try with only the saves present, nothing else. If the game still crashes, please leave your saves in place but start a new save instead, for testing purposes. (This is a different test than before because your saves are present even though you're not loading them.)

Make sure your pc meets the system requirements to run the game. If you have any cc or mods installed, try removing them and test out your game to see if it keeps crashing.

I don't know much about the ea app but from what you've said, it does seem that switching to the ea app might have triggered this issue. I'm going to keep an eye out for anyone else having the same issues.

@AliceBjorkenstam So it seems like some other people have had issues with their game crashing after switching to the EA app, but so far no fix. Here is a thread that may be helpful for you: -Issues-PC/FAQ-Sims-4-Crashes/td-p/3586547

Along with with the thread says, here are some different things to maybe try, but of course be careful and make backups of everything!

@Stellybelly12 I'm not sure what the point of doing a screen recording is. The OP already explained their issue quite clearly, so we don't need to see for ourselves, and screen recording software can be demanding enough to affect how well Sims 4 runs and therefore complicate the troubleshooting process.

@AliceBjorkenstam The Sims 4 crashes in your dxdiag aren't definitive, but they suggest the issue might be the driver for your graphics card. You already have the newest driver, so you'd need to do a clean uninstall and reinstall.

Since that's a bit complicated, please first try playing in a clean user folder, that is if you haven't already. It's less likely to fix these errors, but it's possible, and this is a much simpler and faster intervention. Move the entire Sims 4 folder out of Documents > Electronic Arts and onto your desktop, and when you launch the game, if it launches, a clean folder will spawn with no content. (Your saves and other content will be intact in the folder you moved but temporarily not read by the game.) Don't add anything to the new folder yet; just start a new save and let me know whether it crashes as your current saves have been doing.

Hi, thank you for the tips! It seems to work when I move out the entire Sims 4 amp out of electronic arts and relaunch it without any saves, i played it for a while and i had no problems. However as soon as I add the saves back in the map, sims crash. What do I need to do to fix it?

I have an S21 ultra dual sim. I was traveling internationally and had the sim 1 slot turned off in the sim card manager so I didn't incur roaming charges. When I landed home I opened the sim card manager and turned off the sim 2. Usually I would turn one on before turning the other off, but I was so tired I turned sim 1 off, then the phone crashed - so I effectively have both sims turned off and get no mobile signal at all

I tried to reload the sim card manager but when I tap it, it either does nothing, tries to enter the sim card manager and then exists before it can load anything, or gives me an error message related to call settings. The only way for me to load the sim card manager is to take both sim cards out. Otherwise it won't load it it gives an error and as soon as I put the sim cards back in, one or both, it wont allow me to access the sim card manager - it just doesnt load.

Hi, I have the exact issue for my s21 where I accidentally turned off both sims and the sim card manager crashes after. Unable to load sim card manager and it shows the 'call settings error message'. I have tried all the methods above as well but yeah still didn't work.

Not sure if it was just the clearing of call setting data and cache that got it to work or if it was a combination of all the rest of the steps as well e.g. reset network connections, update phone software, boot into safe mode or resetting of app preferences etc. Anyway, mine worked and I didn't have to resort to a factory reset.

But I found that sim manager begin crashing after I turning off 1st sim and data transfer swithed to this 1st sim. The application warns that data will be switch to 2nd sim and when you confirm start crashing. Until reboot.

Many users report that they are troubled by the Sims 4 crashing issue after update. What causes the Sims 4 keeps crashing? If you are also bothered by this vexing issue, this post of MiniTool will provide you with the top 5 troubleshooting methods.

The A310 keeps crashing, every time I start a new flight with it it just crashes, or just sits in one place I already waited about an hour for it to start. That did not work, so I reopened the sim and it just crashes every time I attempt to load into the A310.

My first forum post here. SFD Boston keeps crashing my sim and I don't know why. I've tried with other planes, other airports. Everything works, including after I take BOS out of my scenery folder. But when I load up to BOS any gate in any aircraft, it crashes. I looked through my log and couldn't find anything. Hoping for any solution at this point. Here's a copy of my log.txt as well, I looked through and couldn't find anything but I'm not a professional so maybe someone else can find something. Thanks all!

Another interesting thing is if I crash, it'll ALWAYS take two attempts to log back in - first attempt I would log in as a perpetual glowing cylinder, and my inventory would fail to load - second attempt would rez normally.

I'm no expert but to get started on something, to me, this suggests a hardware problem, possibly defective memory. So the third thing I'd try would be to run something like memtest to make sure all the RAM is functioning as expected.

That's a time-consuming process, though, so also in line with hardware the second thing I'd try is something like CPU-Z HWMonitor to see if heat is a problem (which seems unlikely, based on the "40-50fps with no issues" thing, but still something is wrong somewhere).

Few months ago my official viewer was crashing like few times a week and then a few times a day, finally figured out that the nivida driver I updated from their site was causing my entire computer to crash not just the viewer. Did you recently have a video card driver update and it was nivida? just throwing that out there. Other than that nope never had random perpetual crashes with just the viewer before.

I'm having serious issues also - for a couple weeks now - I have gone through 3 computers and all stop when it gets to "connecting to region") poof like magic and goes no further. After trying a few of my older computers, they are not allowed to even download Firestorm any longer because it now says - FS is no longer compatible with my "version" of computer - maybe because they are Windows 10. Is there someone to contact at Firestorm or is this all we can do?

Brand new Acer ROG laptop, I7 processor with Nvidea RTX 4060, runs fantastic with sometimes as high as 160 fps. new install of firestorm, and crashing many times per day. The only clue I have is text stops posting or commands stop responding, then in a few more seconds... disconnect. This was happening with my previous laptop as well, but I had managed to get it more under control, still happened though. Not sure if this is a firestorm issue of a Linden issue. Tried the scan from the previous post, and "Windows resource protection did not find any integrity violations."

At first glance, seems like a network problem, doesn't it? (Just to be sure: it disconnects and you have to restart, not crashes itself to the desktop, right?) If you haven't already, maybe reboot the modem as a kind of low-effort experiment?

I used to get quite a lot of sudden crash-to-desktop with bugsplat type crashes on OpenSim grids using Firestorm. I think in general OpenSim grids cause more of this kind of thing, it often seemed to be related to nearby regions (could replicate crashes by travelling close to region boundaries) but was the type of crash I have never seen replicated in Second Life.

As far as network issues go poor WiFi signal strength can cause this type of disconnection, WiFi card driver (check for updates from manufacturer), poorly performing VPN connection is also a common cause. The teleport disconnection bug is still a thing in general too but you wouldn't normally experience that more than once or twice a day, anything more points to a different cause.

i'm currently struggling with similar issues to the OP, and i hate that it might be a hardware issue. i've two modest older systems running 8gb RAM each and GT 635 cards, and i'm not really able to place one through its paces but the one i use for SL just keeps crashing, and often a relog gives me the cloud, contact list and inventory issues until i exit and do it again. This is Firestorm and Alchemy, in Ubuntu and Windows. The official SL viewer in Windows will give me the BSOD. Sometimes in Linux the third party viewers simply crash, sometimes they freeze the system up. i don't know. i've run Memtest from Grub, and let the whole thing run though to end with no errors. Got another GT 635 coming and have downloaded Uningine Superposition to try and force a non-SL-viewer crash. This is getting very frustrating.
