As of a couple weeks ago, my Google Nest Mini Second Generation media audio has been playing very quietly (I use YouTube Music on my Mini). 50% audio started sounding like it was barely at 40% audio, now 60% audio sounds like it's playing at 50% audio, and it keeps getting worse. The assistant volume is perfectly fine, it's only media audio that has the problem.
I'm sorry to hear that you're also experiencing the same concern. Have you already tried the steps provided above? Also don't forget to check the link for more information and do a sequential reboot too:
Thank you for confirming that it's only happening on YouTube Music using your second Nest Mini. Even after having a new one, the issue still persists. By the way, what other music platforms have you tried? We might need to have a look onto YouTube Music to further isolate your concern.
Next steps would be to unlink your account from the Google Home app and YouTube Music. Uninstal and reinstall the YouTube Music app and relink your account. Check out the steps below for extra help about linking music services to the Google Home app:
@watchadam, thank you for confirming that Spotify and Tidal have a louder volume than YouTube Music on your Nest Audio. Since your Nest Audio relies heavily on these applications and services for the function, I suggest you go to its settings and see if there are options to increase the volume of music being played. Also, the volume of each music depends on the song that you're playing and on what kind of format it may have used when uploaded. It would also be of big help if you can reach out to YouTube Music support for more information on the matter.
If the issue persists, we can revert your Nest Audio back to its default and original settings. You need to set it back up again and start fresh. To factory reset your Nest Audio, follow the steps below:
Chiming in, currently there's no option to change the Assistant's voice on the Google Home/Nest speakers or display. We're always looking for ways to improve -- we'll take this as feedback, and we'll gladly pass it along to the team. You can also send feedback using your device by saying, "Hey Google, send feedback." Visit this link for more steps.
Every Dad knows how much stuff is needed for a day at the beach. We also know the pleasure of getting it there and back is usually ours. The Shibumi Shade is so easy to carry and put up by myself. Love it!
After many broken beach umbrellas, finally purchased this 2 years ago in Hilton head. Best buy ever for beach equipment. It travels very easily and is always useful. You do need some wind at least 5 to 7 mph. There is a method on line or youtube to attach clamps and use sand bags on the end when the wind is very light.. highly recommend
We bought our first one about 2 years ago and loved the ease to with we Assembled it. Because of being so lightweight, we now brought a shade canopy every time we went to the beach or out on the boat.
Was given my Shibumi May 2019. A minimum of two weeks dependable service every year since. Spring 2024 my over zealous grandchildren attempt to set up the shibumi unsupervised. They crack a pole. I go to shibumi to purchase replacement poles. Discover you can receive replacement poles Free!! An expensive product, but unmatched quality and unheard of customer service. Customer Service looks out after the members of Shibumi Nation. Thx Bryon.
We have chased beach umbrellas for over 6 decades, but the Shibumi stays put! Wish I had thought of this! I also just received the wind assist for calm days which makes this even more valuable. It's easy to set up & compact. No more juggling a large umbrella!
I have been trying to get a nest mini to act as an announcement speaker. I have the Chromecast Integration (Beta) app installed with the speaker selected and polling set on set to 60 seconds, also tried 300. I have the notifications app installed with several text to speech notifications set up for exterior doors opening. About every 24-48 hours the speaker stops speaking and I need to use the initialize button on the device page. I activated debug logging, used the speak button with the word TEST and noticed this warning in the past log with a recent timestamp.

With Firmware release 2.2.8.141, Chromecast Integration now includes a setting to enable connection keep-alive through device polling. Making this app no longer needed.

Had trouble finding how to invoke the init command but have it setup now with a 30 minute interval. Has been working fine for several days so far. Thanks for taking the time to answer my questions, very helpful.
On my new iPhone 12 mini whenever my alarm or timer goes off, it starts loud for about a second or two and then the sound lowers to very quiet. Easy to fall back asleep. Not a good way to make sure I wake up. Is there a setting to keep the volume the same or is there a sound issue with the iPhone 12 mini or iOS? I am on iOS 14.2.1
BL launched the 'Quiet Mini' in the Summer of 1980. It incorporated extensive sound-deadening in the floorpan, front bulkhead, dashboard, roof and boot, plus a new headlining material. The effect was to produce what could more accurately be called a 'quieter Mini'. Over the years it was slowly reduced under cost reductions and in the front floorpan area it seemed to promote rust by trapping the water leaks.
From Somerfords website:
"The higher diff ratio came in for the next and ultimately more successful, anti-noise campaign that took place during the development of the 1997 on Minis. One of the forthcoming European regulations that had to be passed if the Mini was to stay in production after 1997 was the drive-by noise limit - i.e. the aural impact the car would have on its immediate environment. Once again, sound deadening material was beefed up, but it still required exhaust modifications, the repositioning of the radiator to the front of the car and the raising of the final drive ratio (so the engine wasn't running so fast) plus a host of other changes to get the Mini quiet enough to pass the tests. It did pass, obviously, and the 1997 on Minis are genuinely noticeably quieter both from the outside and inside. Only one other Rover Group product had to turn similar engineering cartwheels to pass the drive-by noise test: the Land Rover Defender. Says it all, really..."
Anyone for tennis?
So with Wimbledon just gone, here is an image of one of the top tennis players of the 1970s, Ilie Nastase, known for his on court verbal antics, posing with the new 'Quiet' Mini City:-

Mitsubishi ductless mini split systems are the most environmentally friendly and efficient systems on the market. They are easy to use and install. The installation process consists of an indoor unit placed in a high spot of the room to ensure consistent temperatures all year round.
The mini split systems are the quietest air conditioners you can find on the market. They have an average noise level of 32 decibels. To put that into perspective, window units and split and packaged central air conditioners have an average noise level of 50-72 decibels.
The ductless mini splits also come with the ability to customize the heating and cooling settings according to your own home requirements. This means you can choose the zone you would like to be cooled, rather than having to cool the whole home, therefore keeping your electricity bills in check.
Because of the small size of these cooling systems and their zoning customizations, Mitsubishi can guarantee greater energy efficiency. They follow the ENERGY STAR guidelines, which means they are a lot more energy efficient, enabling you to reduce your total carbon output.
Mitsubishi succeeds in improving your indoor air quality with their ductless mini split systems. This not only impacts the environment in a positive way but also helps you sustain a comfortable and healthy breathing space for your household. The multi-stage filtration in the units ensures healthier air quality.
Having taught acoustics for several years now I can say that HVAC (heating, ventilation and cooling) is an issue that deserves much more attention than is typically given in most textbooks. Years ago I moderated a panel discussion that included Paula Salvatore (Capitol Studios) and Candace Stewart (EastWest Studios), and both agreed that HVAC was a major concern in day-to-day operations. In their case, it was more about keeping systems functioning and maintaining a comfortable atmosphere in the studio conducive to creative production. Those working in home project studios face a variety of HVAC challenges that professional spaces have solved with expensive infrastructure, isolated fan & mechanical noise and specialized ductwork. But these solutions lie well beyond the resource limitations for most home-based producers.
Mini-split systems have certain limitations regarding the length of individual line-sets, so do your research before ordering and make sure the placement of the compressor(s) will be accessible to each air handler. A typical maximum distance for one line-set is 50 to 75 feet, and there are other limitations for differences in elevation between units and compressors as well.
You will also need to install a dedicated 240v circuit with a disconnect box for each compressor. You need to have sufficient amperage available in your electrical panel as well. My chosen system required a 208-230V circuit with a max fuse breaker of 60 amps and a minimum circuit ampacity of 40 amps. While you can install this circuit yourself if you have the know-how, MRCOOL recommends contracting a licensed electrician for this task, as do I. High voltage and amperage circuits are not to be fooled with. Circuit specifications and line-set limitations are available from the manufacturer.
The line-sets come in coils that need to be flattened out before connecting to the air handler. These are copper tubes that can be kinked and rendered useless if care is not taken when bending around corners. I was quite concerned about this having never run refrigerant lines before. But MRCOOL line-sets offer extra protection against kinking by way of spring-wrapped lines, so my fears were somewhat allayed.
