I have a DVR shown below and I am not able to reset the system to the factory default. It is an 8 ch standalone, unbranded, no make or model codes, just states H264 DVR and the specifications listed below.
Thanks, I would like to know if the DVR can be reformatted with an updated firmware ? if it is possible what would be the firmware for the attached unit and how to perform the upgrade without knowing the password.

I have a H.264 Network DVR installed at my premise but one of my employees changed the password and can't remember it. How can I tried the option of removing the battery but it did not work. How can I reset my password.
which in some resets it to the default pass, in others it may just allow you to change it i'm not sure. I used it (for mine it was calculate_2.exe file to reset) and then my pass went to blank after a reset and i was in
Came here hoping that one of the calculators posted by LordFox would work on my Amcrest IP camera. It decided to randomly stop accepting my pass. I didn't forget my pass either, i guess it got corrupted somehow as the pass was saved on my browser, phone app, and PC app and all were denied.
I have a Multistar DVR which I forgot the password and am not able to reset the system to the factory default. It is an 8 ch standalone, have try search the internet if I will get the manufacturer URL but I couldn't and tried user: admin and password: 123456, but that does not work.
Tried all different passwords 111111, 000000, 888888 without any success. I took out the board battery for a few minutes and it has reset the time not the password, it give me and error code: 81a199 whenever I try login. Below are information about the DVR:
(Note: Not much of this is relevant to readers using PostgreSQL 9.2 or above from the EDB installers, which now have a greatly simplified default install using the NETWORK SERVICE, though you can still configure other accounts).
You've reset (or tried to reset) the service account password. PostgreSQL won't run as Administrator for security reasons and the installer generally sets it up with a "postgres" user account in PostgreSQL 9.1 and older1. On Windows you can't start a service as a user without saving the password of the user in the registry, so that's what the installer does.
If you change the password for the Windows user account postgres, the PostgreSQL service can no longer start. So don't do that, you'll have to fix the service configuration to store the updated password.
Thankfully I think another mistake prevented you from doing that. It looks like you're probably running your command prompt without using "Run as Administrator" on an unprivileged Windows user account or a machine with UAC, so it isn't running with the access permissions required to change the password for the postgres user.
Before you try to change that password, make sure it's really what you want to do. What's the problem you're trying to solve here? Are you attempting to install a database update or something else that's asking for the password for the postgres Windows user?
Most likely you're just trying to log in to the database. For that, you use the (unfortunately completely unrelated) password stored in the database its self. Since you've lost/forgotten it you'll have to reset it:
Find your pg_hba.conf file - this controls access to the PostgreSQL server. You will need to edit it as a user with Administrator rights. Look for lines that mention user "postgres" and temporarily set the mode to "trust". Restart postgresql and then you should be able to connect without a password. Reset the password, then restore the file to its original settings and restart PostgreSQL.
I restarted from Windows (under Boot Camp) via Restart in OS X..., which I've done many times before. This time, my MacBook restarted and stayed black for a while. I eventually held the power button to reboot it.
OS X Yosemite has a troublesome password reset screen you can access by turning your computer off and back on from the login screen. However, once you do this, there is no way out. The "Reset Password" boot wizard offers no exit without reseting your password. If you restart your Mac, you will end up right back in the wizard.
