my Laptop Acer 5315 series has no indication of any power. I just bought a new charger and same thing. what should I pay attention to when I start taking it apart? is there any lights inside that could point to the source of the problem? Thanks

Moshi moshi. I have this acer aspire e1-531 laptop and the indication light for charging is not glowing. Even when the charger is plug in, it will not charge. No power, led not turning on. Any ideas how to troubleshoot?

Are you getting power to the main board? Check the voltage on PJP1 DC-in Power Jack. The voltage between the RED and BLACK wires on the connector should be the same as on the power adapter. If not unplug the connector PJP1 from the board an measure again. If still not correct then the DC jack or associated cable may be faulty.

Yes, when laptop unexpectedly shuts down for some reason, as an inbuilt programming it tends to save the state to prevent further damage. Pressing power key without any power source discharges the power stored in electric components and then it starts from scratch rather than trying to restore to its original state.

SecondByte, this was a great idea and worth of shot. Unfortunately, I either didn't do it right or smth else but it didn't work for me. I guess i'm stuck with buying a new motherboard. Thanks a lot for your input though, I'll remember this for the future.

Hi, If you pls explain how will i do this on my Lapi Acer Aspire E15 (E5-573G-340R), It has internal battery , I have unplug all screws and unplug the battery and plugin again to start every time. Pls suggest

My Acer Aspire One minilaptop has got problem in that, when I power on it doesn't respond and when I connect the charger the led in the adapter starts to blink and on testing the entire keyboard their is power connection. What could be the problem?

I have an acer aspire v15 when powering it up i will b on just for a fraction of second then turn off while still in charge its not working removing battery n then powering up all in vain can anyone help me please

Same problem! The Battery is charging and LED is either orange (charging) or blue (charged). Nothing happens when I switch it on. I tried the 15 sec power button and disconnect the cable solution, when I release the button the laptop powers on, ACER logo appears on screen and after 4 seconds it immediately turns off! Help please. I assume there must be a problem on the MB or RAM?

i just restarted my laptop . took the battery off and wait for like 2 min and plg the battery back and plug the charger also . press the power key for 10 sec and let it be turn on . if this did not work than try rebooting the laptop in safe mode . for any other steps visit Guide- FIX Acer laptop boot and power problems and see if this care to solve the problem .

Can you describe how to do this or provide a link with a diagram? I have an Aspire V3 with no power going to the motherboard. I have yet to take a look at the dc connection, as I didn't want to take the back off if I didn't have to. But since it seems that I have to, I would like to have access to all solutions during the tech apart, just in case. I have never re-flowed a laptop and don't want to do it wrong!
