Hi Forum members, I am a process engineer. I previously worked on various simulation software but now I am trying to learn aspen hysys online by myself. Capture1.JPG 57.86KB 11 downloadsI am doing an industrial case study and facing following problem. Please guide me to resolve this issue or suggest me any online institution to improve my skills.
Im trying to figure how to control the pressure and level of a tank on hysys without adding a gas like N2 to make the pressure steady. The idea is very simple: a tank full of LNG (liquid natural gas), lets say that 90% of the tank is full with lng and the rest is ng (natural gas), so if I wanna take out the lng off the tank to be sent to the regasification sector, how is that I can keep the tank pressure steady?
the only idea that I can think off, its to blow back to the tank part of the regasified lng, but I supose that I would need some sort of NG back up/storage to be added to the LNG tank while the lng is starting to get gasified.
Thanks
This is my first time using Labview so I am not familiar with it. I am a Chemical Engineer working on a project, I have used HYSYS to simulate process dynamic, the current project I am working on is to creat link between hysys and labview to visualize all parameter on labview such as
I think the question is itself confusing and unclear. Words like "which method of hysys is correct", makes no sense since the user is the one creating the inputs. (Garbage In Garbage Out, as Art mentions... Don't blame hysys for giving you weird answers if you input weird stuff). There is also missing information like the valve Cv that was input.
Thank you, i know what you mean, i have tried adding a pump in order to solve that situation because i have not the elevation of the vessel (and i have no idea how to indicate that height in hysys, it would be better because the pump is a ficticius one and in the real plant there is no pump, it must be a difference of level which impulses the liquid to the HX)

At times, these operations will not converge and troubleshooting can be very difficult.
Basic troubleshootingFor Adjust operations, basic troubleshooting tips include:
Alternatively, set up this flowsheet using a Recycle operation. Create a minimum approach specification in the gas\/gas exchanger, add the recycle operation and allow HYSYS to calculate the "From G\/G" stream temperature. In our experience, this results in a flowsheet which will solve consistently.
Using Calculation LevelsWhen there are multiple adjust or recycle unit operations you may need to specify which adjust operation to converge first. This may be useful if you find that adjusts are "competing" with each other, resulting in the flowsheet not converging (or converging very slowly). Go to Simulation-Main Properties, and modify the Calculation Level on the "Calc Levels" tab. To force HYSYS to solve ADJ-1 before ADJ-2, set the calculations levels to 3500 and 4000, respectively.Checking tolerances are consistentOften, the default tolerances in the recycle are not tight enough to ensure that the flowsheet properly convergences. For example, if you are solving a column to a tight compositional tolerance (for example, in a glycol or amine loop), then it is important to ensure that the recycle sensitivity for composition is small enough.
