Feelinglost? Not sure where you are at preset? The `Where Am I` app shows your current geograph location, including latitude and longitude, on Google Maps. The geolocation service is available on both desktop computers and mobile phones.

The location finder service uses the Google Maps Geolocation API to determine the place. It returns the location based on your IP address, cellular service towers location and WiFi nodes that your mobile phone can detect.

The app uses Reverse geocoding to determine the postal address from your current latitude and longitudecoordinates. You can put the latitude and longitude values into Google Earth to know the date when the satellite images were taken.

In Windows, go to the Action Center and toggle the Location icon. If you are a Mac OS user, you will have to enable Location Services inside System Preferences before you can grant Maps permission in your browser.

I have asked a colleague to check-in on Facebook on her iPhone, and asked her to enter our suburb as the location, which wasn't found, but we clicked "Add Location", and saved the location, but 3 days later this location is still not found when we edit our page's info.

I took the "Court" away from the end of the street address and saved the page, I then got an error message with a map and I was able to drag the pin onto the correct address. Saved the page again and viola! My page turned into a check-in place.

Need to find out if you're a Grand Rapids resident? Kent County maintains a Street Directory document that tells you which municipality your address is within. You can see a list of everyone who is considered a Grand Rapids resident. Just follow these steps:

I've been trying to solve this myself for the past 2 days. When users access my website and sign up to my newsletter, they receive a confirmation that has my full personal address at the bottom of the email in the footer. It's labelled as a mailing address and I can't seem to find where I added it in the settings!

When users access my website and sign up to my newsletter, they receive a confirmation that has my full personal address at the bottom of the email. How can I replace this or just reduce it to my local city/suburb?

Squarespace requires a full valid physical postal address to be displayed in the footer of the emails. This is because of anti-spam and privacy laws in various territories, including CAN-SPAM, CASL, and PECR. It also helps build credibility with customers, and can help your emails to avoid spam filters.

However, I can understand why seeing your own address can be disconcerting. If you work from home and don't feel comfortable sharing your address there are a few ways to obtain an alternative address:

Hi! I am a student using the website for personal promotional needs. I am not a business and I don't feel safe to share my home address with anyone who might happen to receive my blog post. I don't have a business and I don't plan on starting one. Why am I required to share an address, and why am I treated like a business doing a marketing campaign? Any way to disable this?

Location addresses are the main way of identifying and locating properties. As a community, we rely on them for a broad range of services, especially emergency response. This page explains how addresses are determined and how to check your address.

The main access, or where access is most likely to occur for a visitor from the road (or water) network to the address site (e.g. front door or driveway) determines the 'primary' address. An 'alternative' address can also be recorded for additional access points to the property.

It should be noted that local governments are the recognised authority for allocation and approval of road names and numbering. The Department of Resources generally only accepts addressing data that has been verified by local government.

Generally, a road is numbered from south to north or east to west. Odd numbers are given to properties on the left and even numbers to those on the right. Rural address numbering is continuous for the full length of the road (for roads less than 1,000km long), and may continue through multiple local government areas.

The national requirements for location addresses are detailed in the Australian/New Zealand Standard for Rural and Urban Addressing (AS/NZS 4819:2011). This standard includes guidance on assigning addresses and naming roads.

Local governments are responsible for naming roads (except for state-controlled roads) and maintaining a roads register (including roads in private estates and gated communities). The Standard for Rural and Urban Addressing has guidelines for the use of road terms (e.g. avenue, boulevard, street) and lists abbreviations for road types.

The names and boundaries of localities and suburbs are assigned by the Department of Resources after consultation with local government and other stakeholders. Suburbs are localities of generally urban character and may be referred to as localities. Find out more about how places are named.

Locality boundaries should be followed when assigning addresses. Generally, the locality in which the property to be addressed is accessed from, is the locality that should be assigned to the address.

It looks like you have exceeded the limits of searching on this page. These limits are set at a level which we believe enables fair use by the public. If you are a business and are using the page for checking addresses we have a much better solution for you.

Postcodes are a series of four digits that are used in New Zealand to efficiently sort and route mail within the postal system. The digits within the postcode are assigned to specific delivery points within New Zealand and are interpreted to ensure mail is delivered to the correct location.

To find precinct, district, or polling place information for a particular address, use the Polling Place Finder.

It's important to note that the emergency services database (ESTA), including police, fire, and ambulance, will have a record of both old and new addresses for a period of time, likewise with Australia Post.

If you are affected, you should have received an information pack from Council informing you of your change of address as well as a checklist to help residents with the transition from old suburb to new. This includes who to advise of the address change, such as insurance companies, utilities, health and medical providers, banks and VicRoads (for your licence and registration details).

The Office of Geographic Names has updated Vicnames, the official register of geographic names and features in Victoria. Emergency services and other government agencies, including water authorities, rely upon Vicnames for suburb and place information.

However, affected property owners are responsible for notifying organisations such as employers or financial institutions of any change of address, and for taking any other necessary actions specific to mailing, residential or business contact information.

The new suburbs will be established across the growth corridor between Melton township and Caroline Springs in areas including Plumpton, Rockbank and Truganina. Smaller changes will also take in long-established localities such as Melton South and Melton West, effectively changing the address of over 5,000 homes and businesses.
