Problem: obviously, this is completely wrong, but just following the doc. However, Caddy never stops. It restarts continuously after a kill. caddy stop does nothing neither. A kill -9 or -2 pid where pid = lsof -i:5043 or pid = lsof -i:2019 just makes Caddy to restart.
I'm not particularly great at this stuff, but I managed to get nextcloud running behind caddy and it's been working fine. Since the latest update, I get a warning to set the " X-Robots-Tag" header to " noindex, nofollow". I added the following line to my Caddyfile, but it hasn't removed the warning:
I'm a big caddy fan, but not a frequent user currently (I have used it in production though). It would be a wise choice in something that guided users where to get started, especially if they are not currently invested in Apache/nginx.
If you need more than the base version of caddy, you can use xcaddy-binAUR to customize your caddy server build. This is useful if you need the additional plugins for DNS challenge, etc. Alternatively, if a pre-built package, with the plugins you require, is already available you may choose to install those from AUR, for eg. caddy-cloudflareAUR.
If you are facing any issues related to SSL certificates (especially on non-public domains), it is probably because the running caddy instance does not have permission to add the certificate to the system's trust store. This seems to be the case when caddy.service is used to autostart caddy.
