The FamilySearch shared tree strives to have just one public profile for every deceased person who has ever lived. Descendants contribute what they know about a person to a single, shared profile, rather than scattering their knowledge across multiple profiles on several trees, some of which may have privacy barriers.
At FamilySearch we care about connecting you with your family, and we provide fun discovery experiences and family history services for free. Why? Because we cherish families and believe that connecting generations can improve our lives now and forever. We are a nonprofit organization sponsored by The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. To learn more about our beliefs, click here.
Originally made for Narrative Driven Jam 12. The theme was asymmetry and it made me think of a family tree with unbalanced branches. Missed the deadline and forgot about it for while, but finally wrapped up the loose ends and decided to post it anyway!
In this game, your goal is to piece together your family tree from phone conversations and sticky notes. As you learn information, more stickies will appear and be able to place on your tree by hovering over the right spot. It's rather short, but I hope you like it!
Shoutout to my Tiktok followers for providing feedback on the phone voices and helping guide me to this iteration of this sound effect, where short clips are selected and played randomly to give it a little more realism.
omgggg Ms. Reagan i loooove love love this game of yours, it literally inspired me and my group to create a game with similar gameplay. It's called Numero, set in 19th Century Philippines during the Spanish Colonization.
wow we definitely need to speak with the dad. I feel like there's so many ways you can take this. who is Nat's 'donor'? How did Andrew die? Why doesn't papa like dad? These questions need answers! I love your game its really cool!
I think it's implied in-game that it might have been uh... I really wish Itch had spoilers. There is the line your mother says about how "Nobody really saw what he'd been going through" and I took that to mean Andrew.
I assume Nat's donor is literally a sperm donor, possibly anonymous or just not in the picture by design. It seems like Andrew died by suicide. It also seems Papa was just always going to be hard on whoever his son in law ended up being. Dad didn't ask his permission to marry mom which seemed to bother him. I don't think it's meant to be a severe hatred or anything, just a general dislike which still sucks of course.
I am not sure if my laptop is glitching or old but whenever I click on the game a sad face pops up and it wont let me play. Idk if I need to download anything because there aren't any links. I don't think its the game glitching because it has done this with another game. If any knows how to solve my problem it would be much appreciated. Thank you
This game was awesome I loved it. If your ever think of adding something to this game I would love to give you some ideas that would spice up the game if you ever want to reach out and talk about some ways to add more to this game I would love to give you some ideas.
Great game! It was very relaxing to play. I really love how it shows, that many families have story and meaning behind them. Not only that, but I love how you added LGBTQ+ representation. It also shows a special connection between family and how much it can hurt to loose one too. The relationship between "Papa" and "Dad" also manages to show that many families aren't perfect aswell. I really can't stop rambling about this. I would really like to see more. It would be great if there was more. I'm very interested of what happend to Andrew. It made my day to play this! Thank you.
This is such a nice little game. If I'm not mistaken, it's a good look at what a child might understand in the wake of a relative's death by suicide. The way that many of the family members speak about what happened (or in some cases how they don't speak about it) indicated to me that that might be what was going on. I also love that there's representation of donor conceived children and LGBTQ+ families.
Really cute hope to see this turn into even more. Wish we could speak to the dad also wouldn't we get the grandpa on dads side as well for the tree since we got the great grandparents who are dead for moms side?
This was so sweet. I do wish there was an ending screen though (unless I missed something and didn't get to the end). If you ever add more I'd love for there to be an option to call Dad at some point.
i came across your tiktok page and i had to try out the game immediately! as someone whose family tree is asymetrical with a similar constellation as well, it added to the homey feel of the game. im excited to see you expand it :))
I really enjoyed the vibes of this game. I really hope to see you expand on it because it's such a great idea. I think it is really special and id love to see more additions to the family tree and more secrets to figure out

FamilySearch recently launched a new and much-improved version of their online family tree. I have only just begun to add my own family to this new service, but already I am impressed by the degree of collaboration available through doing so. Like Ancestry.com, there are an impressive number of users on the site, which allows for maximum exposure of your research. Also here is no cost for creating or maintaining a tree on their site.
More and more genealogists are choosing to publish their work via personal blog or website. It is the best way to have full control of what and how you publish. Your site will be able to be discovered by other researchers through searching the web. Just make sure you provide a way for them to contact you. This method is definitely not as simple or straight forward as the first two, but blogging sites like WordPress and Blogger have made it easier than you may think.
Kickstart your research by talking to family members and writing down everything you remember - births, marriages and deaths are a great place to start. Get as much information together as you can, and watch as the branches of your family tree starts to form. You can even download our free genealogy template to save yourself the hassle.
Then, you can start building your online family tree. Our family tree builder is the quickest, easiest way to explore your past. Begin inputting the information you have, and we will keep your discoveries organised and easy to retrieve.

FRIDAY - August 19 - We have received a number of reports of users not able to log into Ancestry.com over the past few hours. We are aware of this issue and have contacted Ancestry to help find out what might be causing it. We will post updates here when we know more.
When you have a tree linked between Ancestry and your Family Tree Maker, any time you make changes to either tree you will need to perform a sync to transfer the updated information from one tree to the other. You have two options for syncing: Automatic or Manual. The options for automatic or manual sync can be set when syncing a tree for the first time, or by clicking on the sync indicator in the upper-right corner of the program and going into Sync Options.
