Hello all, could do with some help. I need to render up a Revit model in c4d and have been back and forth with the architect to try and find the best format. Originally I said no probs just send me over an FBX with some sort of split by material option. But apparently there are no options in the fbx export and when i import it in to c4d R15 I just get a big stack of objects that are going to be a nightmare to group. It good to no-one really. Turns out revit doesnt have many export options so im a bit stuck. Max has a way to combine by material on fbx import but cinemas import options are rather basic.
Its a crazy situation, I thought the likes of FBX was a robust file exchange format but this file is a mess. With DAE im not sure if they need to install a plugin by eon for that (used for lumion bridge) which I dont really want them to do if avoidable.
The material settings in Revit are totally prehistoric and not even worth asking Autodesk to update this, but if you guys could create a material editor plugin which gives all the available settings like you have in the Quixel bridge: albedo map, displacement map, normal and bump maps, rougness, etc. I honestly think you will outsmart all your competition.

I thought the materials in revit are just a short hand version of MEntal Ray if they are mental ray couldnt they be as complex as Max versions? Also if an Enscape material editor allows modifications of mental ray in ore complexity but the native revit dialogue only sees what they allow technically shouldnt that not affect the base use if shared?
