Tioga Local Food Group meeting

I have tentatively scheduled the next meeting of the Tioga Local Food Group for next Wednesday, August 8th at 9:30am in the auditorium at 56 Main St, Owego (CCE/County building) to hear about a few of the local food distribution models we are considering. We really need both producers and consumers at this meeting to learn about the different models and give input about which aspects we think will and will not work for us.
David Cox from CCE Schoharie, who was involved with the start of Schoharie Fresh (schohariefresh.com - one of the distribution models we are considering) is passing through this area on August 8th and has agreed to speak with us then. He will see if one of the other people involved with the project can come too. If meeting August 8th really doesn't work for any of you, please let me know ASAP, but this may be the only time we can get David in person. If we have to go for another date, we would likely have to talk to him via phone or computer.
We can also discuss the local website, OweGo Green (owegogreen.com) and how we might be able to use that as a platform. Christine, could you give us a short overview of OweGo Green and how you envision a buying/distribution model might be incorporated into it?
I've also tentatively asked Dan Livingston to speak to us briefly about Wholeshare (wholeshare.com), as well as a couple of other online distribution models that he is familiar with that might work for us (possibly farmigo.com and goodeggs.com). He worked for CNY Bounty, is currently the Accounts Manager for Wholeshare, a web start-up which helps individuals pool their collective buying power to buy directly from wholesalers (they currently work with Regional Access, and their system has the capacity to add local producers as well), and is very knowledgeable about web-based distribution models.
