I am trying to insert the "BLACK DIAMOND SUIT" symbol using the symbol keyboard accessed through the "fn" key with the world symbol on it. However, every time I select it, it outputs the "diamonds suit" symbol. There is a distinct difference in size and color, and it doesn't communicate what I'm trying to say correctly. Is there a way to prevent this substitution?
Interesting. Actually no, as I pointed out in the original post, I'm getting the red suit when I want the black suit outside this forum. It's also interesting that you are seeing the red and black, as I am seeing two small black diamonds. The font may indeed have something to do with size though as you have shown.
Well now that I've checked those programs, no it no longer happens in those programs. The black diamond is black and the red is red. They are still drastically different sizes though, even though I'm using the stock font and they don't look so different in the symbol selector.
It's a character-set issue. Get a tool that inspects the response headers of the server (like the Firebug extension if you're using Mozilla Firefox) to see what character set the server response is sending with the content. If the server's character-set and the HTML character set of the actual content don't match up, you will see some strange looking characters like those little black diamond squares.
This can also happen if you have a file encoded in ANSI, returning a special character. Changing the files encoding from ANSI to UTF-8 will return the special character. You can do this in Notepad++ selecting Encoding in the top menu.

I am brand new and this is my first post, please excuse me if I miss anything. I've seen you're work and I think it's amazing! Could you please help me with my MC patch sir? I already have a basic one made now, but after seeing yours.. Yeah.. Lol The logo is based off of my BF4 MilSim. It's pretty straight forward, but here's the twist. I'd love to see your version of my patch as well. I'd like for your version to contain the traditional "Skull and Crossbones" (with the three bullet holes in the skull), which mine has no crossbones. As well as implement the black diamond somehow. Implementing the one if possible as well would be amazing! But totally unnecessary.
Our colors are Black and Yellow. I would like the top rocker to read "Black Diamonds" and the bottom rocker to read "Los Santos". If possible could you please make me a traditional Prospect patch as well? With just a "Prospect" bottom rocker and "MC" patch to the right? I would also like the background to be transparent please. Please choose a size you feel is good enough to be displayed on clothing. Attached below is the link to my MC page and it's current patch.
The actual unit that we use is the 1st Reconnaissance Battalion if you're curious to where the patches design comes from. Also if anyone can help with the transparency issue with the crew emblem that would be greatly appreciated as well. Anyways, as I said before I'd love to see your take on my patch as well. You're the absolute sh*t my man! I hate to sound like a picky little biatch but, is it possible, I know you're busy, but is it possible to do three bullet holes in the skull and a "Nomads" full patch version? It completely slipped my mind when writing the original post. Also how much of a pain in the ass would I be if I asked you to make smaller designation patches? I can't seem to find a custom rank/patch creator.
Of course I don't mind. I'd love to take on more requests; I enjoy making patches. As far as making the Nomad and flasher patches go, I'll work on it when I get up tomorrow/later today. I'll also try to add three bullet holes to the skull as well.
