Net set up (indoor or outdoor net): Set MLM up 6-8ft behind you and the ball facing down your target line. Set your net at least 8ft in front of the ball. The MLM needs at least 8ft of ball flight to capture data.

Yes. The MLM normalizes data. This means the MLM does not take wind, weather, slope or elevation into consideration. It assumes a premium ball is being used. Since the MLM assumes you are at sea level, if you are located in an area with high altitude/elevation, you may see shorter distances appear on your MLM.

Overheating is due to your iPhone/iPad getting too hot. Generally, your iOS device is overheating more so from the direct sunlight/humidity than the actual temperature. To help prevent this, shade your MLM as much as possible, such as with your golf bag. Make sure all apps are closed out in the background of your device and just the MLM app is running. Taking off the case will also help with your phone not overheating as quickly.

The MLM requires a ball to be hit in order to receive data. Using SuperSpeed Sticks or other trainers with the MLM where you are not hitting a ball, will result in you not be shown any swing speed data.

3. The MLM is facing down the target line in order for ball flight to be seen. There needs to be at least 8ft of ball flight before hitting the net in order for data to trigger and at least 60-80 ft when hitting outdoor.

6. Lighting: Wither your net is located indoors or outdoors, you need sufficient lighting. This includes at the beginning position of the ball as well as the ball flight. If the initial ball cannot be seen, you will not receive data, as well if the ball flight cannot be seen, you will not receive data. A room with overhead lighting filling the room is suggested.

Spin Axis - the axis that the ball spins on or the measure of the tilt of that axis. A positive Spin Axis means that it is tilted to the right (a slice or face for RH golfers). A negative Spin Axis means that is it tilted to the left (a draw or hook).

For those who may not know me yet, here's a bit of background. I was born and raised in Brazil a little over 40 years ago. Growing up, I played soccer, handball, futsal, and enjoyed the outdoors, swimming in holes and exploring trails around Unai MG, Brazil. I never held a golf club until I was in my early 30s, and I started golfing in 2010. I'm still a high handicapper. I now live in southeast Michigan where the golf season can be very limited due to the weather. Therefore, if I can extend that season with a backyard simulator and practice setup, it would be a dream come true.

For this testing, my plan is to spend some time working on the range with the Rapsodo and in the backyard with the net. I also want to test it indoors to see the difference between various environments and types of balls being used. I'm particularly curious about how responsive the system can be with range balls.

I must begin by acknowledging that this is my first extended experience with a mobile launch monitor/simulator, and I couldn't be more thrilled with the journey so far. The device packs quite a punch, neatly contained in a compact and highly portable package, yet it boasts an impressive array of power and information. My range sessions have been transformed into a valuable source of feedback.

The packaging itself exudes a premium feel, offering an easy setup process through the Rapsodo app. One minor drawback was the manual entry required for each club's details, such as length and loft. It would be convenient to have a quick-start setting to select the basic club type and get started promptly.

Setting up the device on the range was a breeze. Turning it on, connecting it to my phone, configuring the location, and it was good to go. These steps might sound lengthy in text, but in reality, it was a matter of mere minutes before I was teeing off.

The wealth of data provided by this device is truly astonishing and has me brimming with excitement. The Rapsodo can track various aspects of each shot, including club speed, carry distance, total distance, spin rate, and much more. The data can be displayed in real-time and revisited later through the 10,000 videos that can be stored on my account. This wide array of data caters to all levels of players and has the potential to significantly enhance one's game.
