Tinypug 0.9.2 is now available for download. This is our second open-
source developer preview release.

New in this release is support for role-based permissions, which give
administrators a great deal of flexibility in determining how users
can use the system and which features are available to them. As part
of this, we've also added the ability to run Tinypug in an open or
closed configuration. An open configuration permits users to register
and use the system right away; a closed configuration requires users
to be specifically invited and approved by moderators or
administrators.

We've added polish to the ideas and voting feature, which was somewhat
rough in 0.9.1. It's usable now, and we're planning to focus more work
on ideas and voting in our next release.

Also new in this release is a database upgrader. This will enable you
to preserve your 0.9.1 database if you wish (see the release notes
above for details). It's our intention to continue to support the
notion of database upgrades from one version to the next.

Needless to say, there are also numerous bug fixes in this release as
well.

You can read the complete release notes here:

The project home page (with links to the 0.9.2 download and our
Subversion repository) is here:

As always, feel free to post to the list and/or add issues to the
issue tracker if you find anything funny. And if you're a PHP coder
and you'd care to contribute bugs, bug fixes, new features or
constructive feedback, please let us know.

Cheers,

Jeffrey

Guys,

Has anyone had success installing 0.9.2? I can do it (obviously) but I
got a report this week from one person who was able to set up 0.9.1
but is getting an error when installing 0.9.2, so I'm trying to figure
out who's insane here, him or me.
