Hi all,

We've made a bunch of progress on Tinypug in the past few weeks and
things are starting to feel a lot more solid and complete, thanks in
part to your help and feedback.

Even though we've got a few more things we wanted to do for the 0.9.4
release, I also wanted to get you all some info about what will be
included in this release, and to let you all start playing with and
testing some of the cool new features.

Here are the interim release notes for 0.9.4:

http://code.google.com/p/tinypug/wiki/ReleaseNotes

The executive summary of this is "we added the ability to comment on
stories and ideas, discussion forum search that actually works, some
important security and anti-abuse features, and moderation for
stories, ideas, and comments." As well as some other cool stuff such
as support for XML sitemaps (for search engine optimization).

Our QA server has the latest version of the software:

http://qa.tinypug.org

Finally for those of you who are running your own Tinypug systems I
wrote a wiki article on how to keep your database up to date with our
latest releases. It's here:

http://code.google.com/p/tinypug/wiki/DatabaseUpgrades

Please let us know if you have any questions or feedback about the new
stuff, and thanks again for your continued contributions, advice and
encouragement.

Jeffrey

Hi everybody,

Quick update on 0.9.4. Last night I closed the last few 0.9.4 issues
so what's on qa.tinypug.org now will be the 0.9.4 release unless we
find anything horrific in the next few days.

If you get a spare few minutes in the next few days, I'd be grateful
if you could have a look at the new stuff. (The new stuff is listed
under 0.9.4 on our release notes, located at http://code.google.com/p/tinypug/wiki/ReleaseNotes).

If all goes well, I'll probably have time to do the release on Monday
or Tuesday.

Cheers,

Jeffrey
