Is using a #dbref/attribute setup for the connect_file config option possible? I delved into google pretty hard and couldn't find much information on it. Lots for Penn, but not for tinymux. If it is possible, what should the line look like?

I attempted this:

connect_file #14/TXT`CONNECT

and got the 'can't find the connect file' line in the log.  I'm assuming that if it is possible, that's not the way to do it.

Spent some time digging in the MUX 2.12 src and I do not see this functionality.

Unless I am missing something...

If you want this you will need a hardcode patch,  use penn, or use rhost.

Sorry :(

Totally fine! Thank you for looking into it. I just thought I'd ask, it wouldn't be the first time I missed the obvious.

Cheers.

Depending on what you're  trying to do, the only related thing I can offer is ftp://ftp.tinymux.org/contrib/ansify.l. Depending on your experience, if you can install flex, and then compile ansify.l, you can then use %x escapes to generate a color connect screen.

But, there is no functionality in MUX to pull the connect screen from a database attributes -- evaluated or otherwise.

Huh, I've used ansify before for unrelated reasons - translating MUD colorcodes to phpbb color codes for a MUSHclient plugin a friend created. That's not super relevant, of course!

Thank you, I'm going to give this a go. It's not a huge deal to have color in a connect file, but it can be fun to play with.
