Install a local rpm

I have downloaded a rpm package (mandriva/i586) but i do not know how
can i install it. It's frustrating. Could anyone help me?

Please do not install any packages outside of the TinyMe or PCLinuxOS repositories.

There's almost 9,000 packages available in the repositories. Chances are what you're looking for is already available via Synaptic.

I have to agree if you go to the forums on any of the PCLinux sites there are some some tutorials on package installs and some on compiling programs from source that are quite good.I threw in  ( how to forge ) & ( PC Linux Mag ) as very good links for general Linux as well as PC Linux tutorials.

you should look for the same package in synaptic and not install things from
other distro's
