Hi... For some reason, when I use the TinyMe LiveCD I can use my
pcmcia belkin wifi card (It uses the rt2500 module) no problem... But
when I install it doesn't work. Boot prompt says:

Bringing up interface ra0: Error for wireless request "Set
Encode" (8B2A)
SET failed on device ra0: Operation not supported.
Error for wireless request "Set Mode" (8B06) :
SET failed on device ra0: Operation not supported.
Error for wireless request "Set ESSID" (8B1A) :
SET failed on device ra0: Operation not supported.

I first noticed this problem while using Bugnux. In searching for a
replacement distro, I've found that no other PCLinuxOS variant works
out of the box except tinyme & bugnux... Yet both have this same
issue. Any & all help would be greatly appreciated.

I wish you the best with this problem, I had the same. Reason being is
Belkin. I even contacted Belkin for help in this and they flat out told
me that they only support Winsuck, and would not go further. It might
work well while Live because it's still running off the other system but
once installed it's on it's own.
Please let me know if you find a solution. I gave up and went with
Linksys (Atheros) on all my systems. ( I am running 8 at this time.)

Interesting... What do you mean by still running off the other system?
My HD has been formated more times than a floppy. This particular HD
has never even had windows installed on it. But I believe you're
right. I'm beginning to think I really need a new laptop anyway... or
to just buy a hard drive mount and some ram for another newer Dell
laptop that I have. The system I'm currently trying to get to work is
a Dell Inspiron 3800.

Thanks for your input!

The reason I said that is due to the fact that most Live CD's are run on
top of an existing systems. In you case I am not sure, a fresh formatted
Hard Drive should not have any drivers left on it. My only guess is that
from the Live to a Install some of the drivers are not transferred properly.
Have you been able to isolate the drivers you need during the Live
and possibly install them after a Full Install? I had to do that 4
times on a new ACER Aspire. I got the commands from the Ubuntu Forums
and it installed perfectly but during the following month had to be
reinstalled 5 times. It now seems to work great. At least as for now, my
youngest Son is using it for College and hasn't contacted me (he doesn't
know how to use command line yet).
Let me know how your doing with this problem. Pretty interesting.
Once solved would make a good Post.
