We had another new member join the TI-Nspire Google Group today who teaches AP Stats & AP Calc.

While at T3 International Conference I saw some impress simulations. I think they came from the new Building Concepts activities.
http://www.tibuildingconcepts.com/activities/statistics
Looking at that page didn't help me figure out which one I saw - the coin toss. I actually spent some time trying to find it, and found some other cool simulations, but not the coin toss. Does anyone know which one that is?

Yesterday I answered an email to a calculus teacher who was interested in what activities were out there for solids of revolution or cross section, polar area, etc. Some my find my reply helpful:

Have you seen any of the following activities?

(and check out this YouTube site for Calc.)
1. Solids of Revolution - Go to that link for the Teacher Notes and Students handout (which would be optional for this activity), but get the latest updated tns file from the TI-Nspire Group Website.

SolidsofRev.tns Download Uses 3D parametric  47k

For the washer method, I recommend
SolidRev2.tns Download - now uses 3D parametric   40k
And use this student document.
SolidsOfRevTwoCurves_Student.pdf
View Download

For an explanation of using 3D parametric, see this post.

There are other activities for disk and washer on TI's Math Nspired website here.

2. Volumes by cross section - VolumeByCrossSection.tns Download uses 3D parametric. Teacher notes, student worksheet found at http://education.ti.com/calculators/downloads/US/Activities/Detail?id=12281

3. Area of polar regions

Polar.tns Download Polar Necessities. The first part is great for Precalc class, especially with the TI-Navigator and class screen capture. Teacher and Student documents in Math Nspired.

A couple of weeks ago a school in Chicago had me come up and teach a couple of days to their Calculus teachers. While there I put together a simplified and more versatile in regards to polar area. Polar area.tns Download

4. *Lagrange form of the remainder for a Taylor polynomial.

Although it may not exactly be what you are looking for check out

taylorCAS.tns Download , or these files on Math Nspired

https://education.ti.com/en/timathnspired/us/calculus/series-and-taylor-polynomials

5. ...along with parametric graphing and solving for dx/dt and dy/dt.
The parametric friend I have on the tns site is similar to Parametric Races & Slopes activity.
ParametricFriend.tns Download

6. I think you would also enjoy
SlopeFieldsForever.tns Download An step by step intro to the new DE graph type. TImath.com activity has teacher notes.
An Euler Method program.tns Download

and
SumRectangles.tns Download Colorful activity with extension Script app. Coming to TImath.com    48k
and along with that -
area.tns
Download Riemann programs for your library. RAM, LRAM, Simpson's, trap and all that. Improved.

Wow... really love the updates to the Calculus volumes of solids!

Question, in the Volumes by Cross Section, I am getting more than an equilateral triangle in my 3D cross section viewing on my 4.2 Navigator CAS software.... Here's a screen shot...  Why is the extra parallelogram showing up?
