I haven't posted on here in a while, but I'm loving the bit I've
played with OS 3 so far!

It seems that there's no options for increased text size in OS 3,
which I'm not surprised but always hopeful. So, my question is: How
much more readable is the screen on the CX? My main concern is that
the screen is a bit smaller. I actually the the increased DPI because
it will generally mean more clarity, but it also means a smaller font
and UI. Is this compensated for with OS design, or does the color and
backlight, both of which seem like they could be super nice.

Also, is there a way to switch the main screen to black-on-white
instead of white-on-black?

I wonder if I could justify a new calculator before the AP test. :)

There aren't any new font options but you still retain the option to choose between small/medium/large font by going to home screen and pressing 5 > 3...

Thanks. But comparing the large font, or really and 2 of the same
size, on each handheld, is there a difference?

I always have my Nspire set for large, and I'd really like an XL
option, but that's beside the point. The difference in DPI between the
2 screens is almost 10%, which would mean that the font would be about
10% smaller. Is this the case, or does it seem like there's a
difference. I'm wondering is the advantages of the color screen in
this case are mitigated by the chance of a smaller font. (Color and
backlighting a super useful, but a smaller font sucks.)

I know what you mean there are times when large isn't really large enough...  However it's worth saying that if the difference in dpi is 10% then this would equate to roughly a 3% decrease in hight (as dpi is a square unit) which having seen a CX I have to say wasn't noticeable....

If anything I would say the CX screen is much more readable anyway because of the back-lighting!!

Ah right, good point about the squared unit! That actually makes feel
better, because I do think the backlighting would be a real help! (I
just need to find a store that actually carries working calculators
because my local Staples never has anything working.)

Now, if only TI would add an XL option. It doesn't seem like it's that
difficult, and their support is rather unhelpful about the issue. It
would really help for the visually impaired. :)
