Hello Everyone,

I've been using the TI nSpire CX CAS in every lesson of my AP Calculus BC class this year for the first time. I find that I don't really have a huge learning curve as we used to use the TI-89 for several years which is very similar. So, we're doing fine so far so good! If you're curious take a look at some of my new ScreenCasts:
https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLL956Pn2cKSg87i4GEkaFO6bV8n1T0nEa

I hit my first snag today, however. How do you animate a graph? On the TI-81/82/83/84/85/86/89/92/200 (yes I've taught with all of them over the years) there was a way to select a graph to animate with or without a path.

I was trying to show the trajectory of a canon ball shot straight up today with:
x1(t)=0
y1(t)=160t-16t^2

No mater what I did, all I could get was the completed graph, I could not 'slow' it down to show the motion. Am I missing something here, or is that just not available on the nSpire?

TIA,
A. Jorge Garcia

Well done on the ScreenCasts. I'm glad things are going well for you.
You are correct about the 'slowing' it down.
There are some methods to make it do that, but for now I'll recommend to you a Parametric Friends.tns
ParametricFriend.tns
Download

This is available at https://sites.google.com/site/tinspiregroup/assignments - You can also find some nice resources for  calculus on this site.

Well, I hope you noticed that I have you to thank for the first ScreenCast where I used your nSpire Primer as seen on the TI nSPire Users' Group video you recorded!

Thanx,

Try putting a point on the parabola. Select the point and animate, one direction only (enter a number....1 is fine).
Then you can hide the parabola for the effect.

To animate it, right-click (ctrl menu on the handheld) and choose Attributes. Arrow down once to where the arrow is and type a number.
That does work nicely for parametric.
