I discovered that the lim() function does not work on my Ti-nSpire.. I
get an error that say the following:

Unsupported function
This function requires Computer Algebra
System. Try TI-Nspire CAS.

But, the function is listed in the template menu. Is there a way to
fix it?
Is it safe to install the TI-Nspire CAS operating system onto my
regular TI-Nspire?

Dear mpowell,

Unfortunately, you need TI-Nspire CAS functionality to use the lim()
function as well as other functions.
The TI-Nspire that you currently have does not have the Computer
Algebra System.
Your calculator model is made so that the CAS cannot be used.
You cannot install the TI-Nspire CAS OS because it won't work on your
regular TI-Nspire.
Texas Instruments made the calculator install only regular TI-Nspire
operating systems.
This is to regulate testing as well as other reasons.

Once again, you need a TI-Nspire CAS functionality to use the lim()
function.

Sincerely,
-TJ
