calculator keeps turning off

My calculator keeps turning off after every minute or so. I put new batteries but it keeps doing the same. I am usually in the middle of the calculation and press a random key and it just shuts off.

Does it happen after a few minutes of inactivity or even when you're
doing something? Check the power saving settings under System Settings
(Home key + 8); the default is 2 or 3 minutes of inactivity before it
sleeps.
You may also try to re-install the OS and check if it still happens.
